I want to visit California after hearing about V

California is a 15% hotter version than Florida.

Well, both states are rich with things worth seeing.

It's not like here in Thailand, if you've seen a village, a northern city, Bangkok, Koh Phangan, a gogo-bar, a Thai soap opera, a Muay Thai fight and a beach then you've seen all of Thailand.

I live in NJ so it is all the way on the other side of the country. I would even know where to begin or what to do first if I did go.

If I move I am coming all the way from Australia. You should have a better idea then me, I may as well be going in with a Blindfold.

Australia has a lot in common with Southern California, including the weather, palm trees, surfing culture and beaches.

I was in LA 2 years ago and all I can say is that I don't like Los Angeles anymore. Everything you see in TV or in films is nothing than a virtual world - only an illusion. It's so damn dirty and criminal there. I'd rather prefer San Diego or San Francisco. Cali has great types of landscapes with lots of differences. So the state by itself is really amazing.

This. The weather and actual geography is nice, but LA is a rathole. No homo, but San Francisco is probably the best place in the US. If I ever won the lottery I'd move there.

Depends on how far north you're talking. Almost anything above Sacramento is a dead zone, and arguably Sacramento included. The one exception is the redwoods along the coast. Those are probably the best part of the state.

Actually, I wanted to visit California after playing San Andreas. I really loved their rendering of San Fierro which is why I am going to San Francisco when I'm finally able to go on vacation. When I saw the images from V, I was able to recognise lots of places and better appreciate the advance in graphics.

Literally thinking about moving there in the next year or two. Just need a plan for when I get there.

Same here after I finish school. I plan on getting into the video game industry, working for Rockstar has always been a dream of mine. biggrin.gif

Went last year on a trip through Cali. Visited a lot of great places, that's why I even feel more hyped about GTAV.

Just want to revisit cali and bring back memories by playing it!

I've been all around Europe (I'm from Norway). I've been all around Asia (I live in Thailand). I've been to Northern Africa and South Africa. I'm going to Brazil for the World Cup 2014. It's just USA left that I want to see, and perhaps a little bit more of South America. I got some friends here in Thailand who are from California. They're cool guys. I would love to go to LA and New York. I think though if I travel to LA, the only thing I would recognize from V would be the Hollywood sign a couple of buildings but that's it, or am I wrong?

That sounds awesome man, you hoping Norway are gonna qualify or just going there as a neautral?

Norway is in Group E. And the only stronger opponent is Switzerland. Ther others aren't even real competitors in this group, thus I see great chances for Norway being qualified. I have just seen they are going to play today. So good luck!

It feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity, but we're wasting that great opportunity. We tend to lose against the easiest teams, in every qualification.

SUI 5 - 11

ISL 5 - 9

ALB 5 - 9

NOR 5 - 7

CYP 5 - 4

SVN 5 - 3

Norway 0:1 Albania

Cyprus 1:3 Norway

Switzerland 1:1 Norway

Norway 2:1 Slovenia

Iceland 2:0 Norway

Albania - Norway (Today)

Norway - Cyprus

Norway - Switzerland

Slovenia - Norway

Norway - Iceland

We should make it, or I will burn my hair in pure frustration.

Yeah you really messed up against Albania and Iceland, plus you had a great chance to qualify for Euro 2012 after beating Portugal but you didn't capitalise on it!

Born and raised living here in Nor Cal and its pretty good. Cant really say anything for down south because I've never visited I really couldn't see myself moving to a different state, tbh. I love the chill vibe and plentiful supply of "trees". lol. But it does get hot as hell here during this time.

But seriously though, think about hitting up San Fran first before going down to L.A.

L.A is good from Downtown, suburbs, beach and into the Mojave and their small towns, never go into Compton or any ghetto ass area like East L.A or South Central, you will regret ever visiting L.A, there is absolutely nothing worth seeing but bitch ass gangstas screaming slurs at you, it's only worth visiting in vidya games.

I'm off to LA and San Francisco in the summer, aswell as NY and Las Vegas! Can't wait, it'll be a nice change from being in sh*tty England 24/7

WOW all of them cities in the Summer!. You must be loaded

It's more than our average European holiday, but not extortionate! For the flights and accommodation to stay and fly between all of those cities, including a night at the Grand Canyon, has come to about £6000, plus spending money.

Go to Perth in Australia, it's pretty much exactly L.A. without all the hispanics and not as much drugs or crime or murders. Gang violence unheard of. The weather is similar best time to go is September - April the weather is always 75f but damn hot Nov-Mar

If your coming to LA, bring shorts and something that will keep you cool. Sunscreen helps too. And also visit the beaches.

If you're thinking about downtown L.A, to be honest it's not the best. It's dirty, ghetto, and lots of traffic. Though, it does have a lot of things to do, and nice architecture to look at. I just hate going there. California beaches is where it's at.

Amen.

I have been clear that I want to live in California for about 1-2 years now, but GTA isn't the reason (athough it pretty much made me know the place). It's more because it's the perfect place to achieve something as an artist (which I sort of am), as it's a cultural swarm and the place for starlets par excellence. Plus, pretty much 80% of what I like comes from / is there.

@Aussiethunder36 L.A. "without all the hispanics and not as much drugs or crime or murders, and gang violence unheard of", it's not L.A.

LA is plenty glamorous. I was born and raised in LA, but in a working class neighborhood. Drive 3 miles down the street from my house, and you'll meet people who have known nothing but power and privilege their whole lives. There's so much economic diversity within LA (and most big cities in general) that you could walk 20 minutes from a place like this:

If you're a tourist and you want to see the ultra-wealthy, glamorous LA most people see in the movies and TV, you probably won't, because that's something that's very exclusive and pretty well hidden from tourists and the less well off people of Los Angeles. The real rich folk of LA would rather step in front of a bus than go for a walk on Hollywood Boulevard.
