The graphics look more like GTA IV than Red dead

I never thought GTA IV had nice graphics, it was too blurry to see anything and the building were just photos from real life stuck to side of buildings. Now i see GTA IV submarine picture and it just looks like GTA IV even the water looks black and murky like GTA IV. I thought the game looked good in trailer 1 but the graphics seem to have become like GTA IV since they delayed the game.

 

It went from vibrant and fun in trailer 1 to grim and dark like GTA IV in the new screenshots.

 

It does not look anywhere near as good graphic as red dead redemption.

And where exactly is that in gta IV? look at the water and compare it with IV's water.

No it is an edited photo of Gta IV, the same color palet, the water is the same he just added Los Santos there and the submarine which will almost pop out of the fuc*ing screen

You got me looking and I saw it too. The building on the right in the background is from IV, the blue LS building is obviously photoshopped, the skyscraper in the left background is the LS bank but the silhouette doesn't continue under the bridge. The harbor itself would fit into IV, though I can't pinpoint where just yet. As for the sub, notice the weird waves in the water, must've been copy-pasted from the other screenshot of the sub.

Well, at least for the PC version it doesn't matter if the default graphics are "bad" for him. If he really wants NASA graphics he will be able to get those in the PC version.

As far as we know, Trevor's pic could be an early version. Do you genuinely think that they are going to show the full graphical potential now? I still think V will look better than IV even on PC using ENB, iCEnhancer or whatever.

On a more serious note the trailer and screens have been touched up. We haven't seen in game screen shots so can't really say how the graphics are. We can not also say the graphics have been reduced since the delay. If anything the graphics would improve.

 

I've no doubt the graphics will be on par with Red Dead Redemption if not better.

So you're completely oblivious to the fact that the blue building with LS on it is obviously photoshopped, there is an odd ring around the sub which implies photoshopping, the building in the left background is obviously from IV (but a different colour), the LS bank tower just manages to top the bridge on the right side but the silhouette magically disappears under the bridge and that all of the remaining effects can be achieved with ENB/ICEnhancer? Easily debunked every single aspect of the picture.

Actually, the silhouettes of the buildings continue below the freeway, they just become lighter due to the fog. This is proven with a darkened version of the picture.

I have to admit, knowing people will hate me for this, but i was playing Red Dead yesterday and I was not impressed with the graphics that much. It was fuzzy and sharp around the edges. Especially with terrain. Bushes, trees and leaves all lacked AA. The horses, Marston and animals looked fine although.

 

The draw distance needed some work. It's like the mountains are not 3d models but 2d images serving as wallpaper. There's also a blurry haze to mask this low detail.

 

I'm not even goin to go into the fact that it lags quite a but during gun fights.

 

I hope GTAV looks and plays better than what RDR looks like. If its the same I will be very disappointed. Hopefully it's on par with MP3. I know that's linear but they can replicate that detail for stuff rendered within 5 metres of the player and use less detailed textures further away.

I noticed that hills in the distance look really bad and the draw distance isn't great but it just looks like a kind of mist/heat wave to me. Also, I've never had a problem performance wise on PS3. Frame rate is smooth and I don't ever remember seeing it stutter.

 

Just keep in mind that Redemption will be 3 years 4 months old when V releases. GTA V will look and performance much better.

I personally like the feel of it on PS3 more. It feels more real to me while on the 360 its too colorful.

RDR's graphics were and still are fantastic, despite it being a 3 year old game. GTAV looks even better than RDR.

Actually, GTA IV is 5 years old, not 3.

 

Also, I like GTA IV's graphics and I hope GTA V plays more similarly to GTA IV then Red Dead and hopefully a LOT more similar to GTA IV then Max Payne 3.

I'm probably going to sound like an old school gamer but I could give a sh*t what the graphics look like. Its about the gameplay and story for me. Gues that's why I still go back to chrono trigger every now and then. But yea if they improve the gameplay from iv then ill be extremly satisfied. Just didn't like the driving in it what so ever. None of the cars had any grip. Not even the sports cars. I want more varied handling for the cars. But I'm sure R* has already addressed that
