We know Micheal has a good lifestyle so will it start him off with a reasonable amount of money to go and spend? Just wanted to know other people ideas/thoughts! Seenyour31 Posted June 6, 2013 Share Posted June 6, 2013 Good question, IIRC all the past GTA protags never had two nickels to rub together in the very beginning of the game for various reasons, (Claude fresh off an escape from a prison transport, Niko being new to America, Tenpenny taking all CJ's money etc...) but since in V all the protags are already established in and around LS they should start with some money in their pockets, especially Michael, if would be pretty unrealistic for him to be living the high life and his wife to be going on these shopping sprees and he starts with no money. Plus Franklin has a job, and Trevor has his guns and drug business out in the boonies. So lets say for Michael he starts with around $25,000 to play with(R* did say his fortune was dwindling fast due to his wife and kids spending), allowing you to be able to buy some things and have some money to spend to prep for heists, but not the expensive toys that R* says will be in the game. For Franklin about $5,000 his illicit job pays decently, but obviously not well enough seeing as how Franklin is still living in a poorer neighborhood, plus he wants to make "big money" so he can't be making that much doing the repo thing. Trevor also $5,000, his drugs/guns trade seems at the moment to be a one-man op, and the fact that he's battling the Lost MC for control, I'm going to assume the larger organization would he more connections and a bigger hold on the illegal money that's flowing thru that part of town, so while Trevor is making some scratch from his enterprises it wouldn't be much. Michael although having the nice lifestyle probably has cash flow problems due to his and his family's lifestyle. Franklin is up and coming. Trevor's feud with the bikers over drugs is likely causing him cash flow problems also. Hence why it's likely these amongst lesser reasons are there motivation to get in the game. What would be the point of it if you can go buy almost anything just as you start the game..? Considering money will be big in this game, Michael should be in debt and in need of money, just why he starts looking for contacts for heists, when Trevor and Franklin appear. Trevor, he's an interesting case. He looks like he wouldn't have a penny to his name, but he has a business with drugs. Perhaps a decent amount, such as $5000 to $10,000. This is not IV. If the heists are gonna give you millions, there'll be millions to spend. 10k will be nothing in this game. It depends on the cost of items used by the characters. And about more powerful guns, most likely they'll not be avaliable at the start, like in RDR. Plus properties, rare cars, car customization, weapons customization, upgrades to property.
