It would work if they do it right. For example, if speed traps are set up around the map, after you discover a speed trap, it should appear on the radar.

I voted yes but I voted wrong. I meant no, I'm not pissed about that. I actually love it. I would even like V to become more realistic than that with like refilling gas, turn signals, manual gearing and much more.

Anyway, it will probably come cheats or something so you can disable stuff you don't like.

Well, you know what I'll need if they do all that? An arcade. Know why? Because I'll actually need to be playing video games in the video game to escape the realism OF THE VIDEO GAME!

Haha. Good news for you is that there are probably lots of mini games for you to play, and you don't have to drive, you can walk, take a taxi, perhaps the bus or take the train icon14.gif Just watch out for lightning if you chose to walk smile.gif

OP, regardless of whether traffic laws are enforced, no one is forcing you to abide by them. You would still have the freedom to disregard traffic laws, so what is the problem? Omg there are consequences to breaking the law in GTA!?! How is this new? There have been cops/consequences since the beginning. The game would be boring without repercussions for breaking the law. It's not as if there are police on every corner and it's not particularly hard to lose a one star wanted level anyway.

Right here

You will receive a one-star wanted level, if you respect the rules of the road;

Wasn't that post fake? He made most of that sh*t up.

I hope that`s true. I wanted this since San Andreas. This is going to totaly chenge the way I drive and I love it. Though if they do this they should mark police on minimap so we would know when we should follow the rules or when we can floor it. That is if you get wanted if cought doing it, not if you get wanted even if there is no cop around.

There is no link.

There are no scans.

I call BS.

Someone prove me wrong. Please. Find me a link or scan to the phrase announcing that you get a 1 star wanted level for disobeying the "rules of the road"

For killing and injuring pedestrians and firing guns in public. Which is fine. But traffic laws is way too far. That's way too inhibited for my liking. How am I supposed to watch the radar for cops when driving at high speeds anyways? Isn't that a recipe for an unintentional crash?

I mean, just hit a cop car if you want a police chase. There's no reason to bring traffic laws into it.

Public murder, assault, and gun firing. Yes, that's fine for one star. Traffic laws? Hell no.

Can the mods actually lock a topic that should be locked for once?

Great. This game which presumably has awesome crashing physics and some pretty great sports cars has made driving too annoying, therefore reducing what should be a california vacation down to a flight and boat simulator and the game room app.

It's not like you could just hit a cop car or even just run over a pedestrian in front of a cop, no, gotta make them chase me for f*cking speeding now.

Dude, some of the stuff in the second post has either been confirmed or it pretty obvious it will be in the game. I will take this as truth until the real confirmation comes, because we aren't always right. We have shot down things in the past that actually DO end up in the game

Sure, you keep on believing that being struck by lightning is in the game.

Because it is, not only because a respectable polish magazine confirmed it, also because it's common sense really, why else would they 'advertise' if you ail lightning in various screenshots, like that.

Could be because it just looks nice, but I agree, being struck by lightening sounds like the kind of thing R* would do.

This, because the lightning looks good, damn good IMO. That said it also seems like something R* would do just for the hell of it.

Anyhow onto the subject at hand.

If true, that sucks.

Anyhow It won’t be the end of the world to me, they’ll catch a glimpse of the car as it speeds down the freeway.

Hell the police AI improvements (namely the line of sight stuff) should make it easier to escape in some ways, if you where quick and got down and into the alley ways in GTAIV and/or into a new car (No really this works, it’s just a pain in the ass sometimes) you’d be pretty much golden.

That said this dosen't look to legit at all, so I'll be waiting for confirmation.

Getting chased for drink driving is about as far as I would like to see it go in regards to traffic laws although it could be improved.

In MCLA it was tedious as f*ck waiting for the cops to go so I could speed or run a red light. Also have some of you guys thought about missions that involve chases? Would you like cops to be on your tail everytime they see you speed or run a red light?

I really hope this is just a rumour that's been misinterpreted.

well… it is.

Some guy translated an article from a polish magazine.

Another user copied his translation and added stuff to the list which was totally made up by trolls.

I don't know why but somehow most of the readers here picked it up and made stupid threads about it.

Not game breaking but still annoying. Especially in missions as you pointed out.

Mr Makaveli

I really quite like the idea of obeying road laws.. would be cool if they added speed limits on highways n if you happen to drive past a cop breaking the limit they'll chase you.

If police AI was improved and police density was taken down a peg, I don't think it would be that bad. A cop spotting you run a red light could be like speeding through the toll booths in IV. The term "thin blue line" was first famously used to describe the LAPD because the police-to-citizen ratio in L.A. is significantly less than other major U.S. cities, such as Chicago or NYC, so hopefully R* did their homework. Most of the map is rural anyway.

It was Google Translated, I have no trust on that. Probably misinterpreted, or the 'Rules of the Road' is the regular 'crash to the pigs and we f*ck you up'

EDIT:

You will receive a fine for driving a golf cart on the streets of Los Santos

Maybe we have fines now? Maybe that's the same with that too.

but i see how it can be fun to have cops following when we break road rules. but it can also get annoying being chased after every junction we run.

If this was true most of us would have a 1 star wanted level the majority of the time. If you have ever been on a mission and in a hurry you tend to speed. If you do acquire a 1 star level while on a mission it usually asks you to lose it before progressing.

For a fair chunk of gamers this could be game breaking. For a lot of us here it's not a big deal because we get pretty darn good at driving and evasion. It would be annoying to have 1 star when I am hauling it from one end of the city to another.

This can only work with lower police density overall.

Let's say the rumor is true for a second. Then it's a terrible idea. It makes an environment more restrictive. How it was in IV was fine. Police would "whoop" the sirens when you did something in their view (traffic oriented)

But they didn't pull you over or anything, What I'd like to see is actual causality to occur. Every choice or movement should have a potential consequence, it may be weird at first, but you'd soon learn to control it.

If that's in, I'm actually pleased. It must mean they've upgraded the pedestrian driver AI, and besides, wouldn't it be awesome to max out a Vader down the freeway past Highway Patrol, then they immediately give chase?

Sounds pretty awesome. It wasn't a problem in MCLA, so it won't be a problem in V.

Maybe for you it isn't but for me it would be.

It'll be annoying as hell imo
