The Pizza Delivery Guy Posted June 6, 2013 Share Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) What I've never understood is: Why are people so quick to jump up and shout "VICE CITY VICE CITY!!!'' but are so quick to put down anyone that even mentions past characters from GTA like: "ARE YOU F*CKING STUPID? ROCKSTAR WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO OLDER CHARACTERS!!" Because they are basically going back to older cities, tweaking them, and calling it good. Why couldn't they do that to the older characters? Give them the same name, increase their age, give them new clothes, maybe a new outlook on life, and BOOM you've got change. I don't know why people are so quick to tear apart returning character posts. I know one guy at R* said something about universes. Pretty sure it wasn't either of the Housers... can it really be that credible of a source? Sure no one from the past appeared in GTA IV or it's DLC, but it seemed R* wanted that to be one game from the beginning. Can we really count it? Besides, we've seen the Green and Purple in Franklin's trailer. Rockstar hasn't said anything about it to my knowledge yet. So I'm free to speculate that anyone from Grove in SA could return. And would that really kill anyone of you honestly? Would it seriously be the end of the world if one character from a past GTA dropped by, said hello, killed some bad guys, and left? I don't get what everyone's vendetta is against past GTA characters. Besides, Lazlo has traveled across console generations, why hasn't anyone complained about that? What, is, the, point? When you can be giving useful ideas about new features ans discuss about what we currently have. To me, I already played as those characters before, I wouldn't care honestly. I'm not sure but I wouldn't want them to return either, but maybe that's because I've played with these characters during all these story's and finished the game and now they would suddenly appear like "Hi, killing this guy so the story can continue. *bam*. I'm leaving now bye." - Though, if the storyline would fit the past characters to, than I would like to see them back. I really don't care if old characters never returned, I'd rather have something new and different than something we've already seen before. It doesn't really make sense for characters to return. It's a totally different fictional universe. It's the same reason characters from the 2D games never appeared again in the 3D games... except for El Burro but I think that was nothing but a reference to the original game. We don't want to kill them off, and would have nothing against the idea. We hate STUPID PEOPLE WHO CAN'T UNDERSTAND ROCKSTAR DECIDED NOT TO BRING THEM BACK and still go around creating a new thread every day wanting an old character to return. Why do you people want those old characters so hard? Why not just enjoy whatever new story and characters they create without whining that they are not bringing old characters, or even worse, speculating Michael is Claude, Michael is Tommy, Franklin is CJ and all that stupidity that is shown on this forum every day. I remember when people were dying to have CJ or Tommy Vercetti return in GTA V. Seriously it's time to move on. If Rockstar listened to those fans we would have the same 10 characters in every GTA game from here on out. And to the people that I specifically quoted in the OP and still rewrote: What is so terrible about bringing them back? Why would that just ruin the whole game for you? But it's already confirmed that there won't be any returning characters from the III era and (I thought) only some unimportant characters from IV would return. So it's not like 'we' don't want it, it's just annoying to see 100 threads about this every day while it's already confirmed along time ago we won't see any old character back. Apparently the idea that it's just a video game and to stop taking it so freaking seriously has never crossed their minds. I don't care if old characters come back or not, I just want to have a good time playing the game, if they make the story better then that's cool with me. Most people get annoyed since R* confirmed a long time ago that the III-era characters would not be returning in the HD era, so constant speculation about the return of Tommy or CJ (of which there is a 0% chance) is an annoying waste of server space.
