It's a legal copy no doubt about it. But it keeps showing me CRC Error during installation :'(.. I've been trying alot to be able to play this game.. [ Still haven't played, bought it right after it was released in India ].. Please give me a solution and btw, Im using Windows 7 so I'm not getting the ignore option during CRC Error.. Thanks in advance.
CCPD
Usually CRC Error means faulty CD or CD-Rom. Updated your DVD-Rom's firmware. Uninstall any compression software that you have on your computer like Winzip or Winrar. Nero also, could cause such error so uninstall and remove all components of that program. Then reboot your computer. Install the game after that. First uninstall the game through the Control Panel as normal. Next delete the Rockstar folder in Program Files. After that press Start and type Run in search section and after you get new window type Regedit. After opening Registry Editor delete Rockstar from the directory (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> Software --> Rockstar).
Girish
Check for any scratches on the disc. Also, if you have another PC at your disposal, try to run the steup on that. That would confirm if it's a fault with the disc or with your DVD-ROM drive. Alternatively, you can also try copying the content of both discs onto your HDD and install the game from there. If still no dice, you can get the disc replaced from the store you purchased it from.
