Wouldn't it make sense to show gameplay?

E3 Press conferences technically start today with Konami and E3 trailers are getting released or teased since a couple of days.

Of course theres a lot of Next-gen Hype in the air and it has been confirmed that Gameplay will be shown.

So yeah, wouldn't it make sense for rockstar to unleash the Kraken and Show some exciting gameplay?

you must be new to the GTA scene and the way R* operate they will never and i mean never show gameplay before release so forget about it

Christ no.

Why do you think the GTA series is so damn hyped? Because they never show gameplay prior to releasing the game. That would deflate the hype substantially.

Sure, the game would still be bought/enjoyed by millions, but the anticipation of opening the case and sliding it into your console would not nearly be as high. People, at least on some level, would know what to expect. The joys of seeing the map, radar, and gameplay mechanics (etc) would be diminished.

I saw leaked GTA IV footage prior to buying it on release, and when I played it, I didn't get the initial excitement that I did from prior GTA's.

Oh really?

Max Payne 3, RDR? That was a ton of gameplay...

He was talking about the GTA series only. They never intentionally show GTA gameplay prior to release. RDR and Max Payne are different because they needed the marketing boost.

MP3 is not GTA

RDR is not GTA

it's that simple. The only "gameplay" they might show before release is from multiplayer, but even this I doubt.

Theres no pattern.

Well, it would. Surely for multiplayer, as it would give us a better understanding what they mean by revolutionary, and it would more than likely steal the limelight of a lot, if not all E3 games. But knowing Rockstar, they won't do this. Sure, I wouldn't put it past them to surprise us, but I don't think it's likely.

They never show gameplay, it's something that makes them unique, they want you to find out, not them showing you, but, uh, how am I going to avoid spoilers when I have to wait for the PC version?

rockstar think they are too big for e3... sigh.gif

They are.

They don't need to go to a convention to show off and market their games. Majority of what Rockstar does for their games is done online at the newswire and yet it still generates lots of hype, stories and talk around the world.

They do not need E3 or any other gaming convention.

Too big for glorious next-gen graphics that technically blows their Game away?

I'm not a graphics whore, And GTA V will have more content than all of These games.

But a lot of people are excited about next-gen tech.

That's exactly why Rockstar (by possibly showing gameplay) has to proof ones again that Gameplay > Graphics by a landslide. Sadly, they wont as they're not only arguably the best developers, but also the ones with the biggest ego.

This 100%, i don't have to say anything else anymore.

No. I remember when I got GTA IV after just watching few trailers(non-gameplay of course), it was amazing. Gameplay vids would ruin that feeling.

Deuce Deuce

GTA has built up the sort of fame that enables them to release bare minimal info and still have a massive fan-base drooling over the little bits of info we do get now and then. It leaves more room for speculation which I think is more exciting than being told everything about the game before we play it. It's one of those rare games where people get excited about the littlest of things such as how the HUD will display, the way the camera moves, and everything else in-between. R* know this and choose to play it to their advantage; they're actually doing you a favor in the long run. icon14.gif

For cars? Wait, a trailer you yourself.. Can customize? I've never heard of.. this.

For characters and stuff like that I presume.. I wouldn't watch it myself, sure other people may but I'd rather treat that like I'd treat a actual gameplay trailer.. I wouldn't like to spoil it as I first enter a garage and check out what I can do myself.

Customization trailer as in where some car, weapon, character customization is show. And don`t give me that "I`m not goin to watch it" BS, because we both know that you will be all over it like a fly on a pile of feces biggrin.gif

I suppose you can always Invoke your your 7 days returns policy if you are not happy, This does not affect your statutory rights,

Judging by many here they will probably complete the story within 3 days anyway!

ps; I saw footage a week before release, rockstar tried taking them down, kinda sad really, Whats the big deal??? I still bought the game and have sold and rebought the game 2 times, Didnt change anything, Infact I like to know what im buying........even if some dont

GroundZero

Rockstar never shows GTA gameplay before release... the only chance of gameplay footage pre-release is someone leaking it of getting the game early...

I'd rather not know/see anymore of GTA V save for maybe a multiplayer trailer/info. Quite happy with what I already know and it's not that long to wait.
