No midnight releases here in Greece (as far as I know, at least), but I'll probably be playing it a few days before release, thanks to the local games shop biggrin.gif

Anyone old enough to drive should be there.

Never have never will

I see it as a pointless thing

Especially those who work. Much bette to collect it the next day and play it then (after work/day off etc)

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

It will be my first midnight launch I attend too. I just hope I don't get mugged on the way home, I wouldn't put it passed most folk in my town.

Nah, 17th all the way! If my shifts haven't changed by then, I have Wednesdays off anyway so I get an extra day off in a way. turn.gif

Nah it comes out Tuesday, so I'll just drop by JB HI FI after uni, pick it up there and take the next day off.

Not this time dammit. By the time you get home you're too tired to play. and if you have ps3 forget about it. might as well install that joint while you take a nap. I'm 360'in it and took the rest of the week off so I'll just toss and turn all night and pick it up in the morning.

I'm pre-ordering it with overnight delivery so I'll get it on the day it comes out... I'd rather pay an extra $10 to get it without a wait.

you should have ordered on rockstar warehouse, free release day shipping.

Doubt it, my local GAME store will have loads of people at the Midnight launch, so I'd have to get there at like 6PM to be one of the first to get a copy at Midnight, by the time I'd got my copy and then got home I doubt I'd be back until like 4AM, I'll go and collect it at 8AM probably.

Every midnight launch ive been to, i aim to get there for 11, as always im late by 20mins or so, but still end up near the front!

Might just be my town, but most ppl are dildos and don't expect anything other then a normal store open late... ie they turn up at 12+ thinking they gonna just walk in a get the game... its worth standing around for 30mins just to not be in the massive que tbh.... i turned up for black ops 2 at like 10 past 12, and was quing till like 1am lol!!

SA i turned up bang on 11, and was home by like 00:25/30!!

I got GTA 4, Fallout 3 and Skyrim at midnight releases; I had to pick up RDR the next day. I always try to go when I pre-order, not just because I NEED to have it right away. I want to support this culture and prove that games are a valid form of entertainment (and more), worthy of release events, tournaments and other celebrations of our love. smile.gif

No. Never have. Is it really worth it?

To have the game as soon as it comes out? Of course.

You should bring realistic steak to the midnight launch to get your point across.

Will do brother. BBQ steak, Midnight launch. YEOWW!

@Mokrie Dela: Why is it pointless? Have GTA V now or 8 hours later. I don't see the logic. People are excited they have days off work. Lots of people go to bed after midnight. Imagine sitting up playing your XBox/PS3 and knowing you could just walk around to the shop and be playing the game.

Not with a wife and baby. You'd be surprised how things change over the series.

GTA III was the only GTA I got in High School, I played the piss out of that game.

GTA VC came out while I was in military training, but I still managed to go to the midnight release and snuck in time playing it (actually bought a TV, and a PS2 just for that one game).

For GTA:SA I again went to midnight release, but only at the last second and did not take the next day off of work (I did take off Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday though, as I had planned on getting the game after working hours). I did however spend the whole day at work fielding questions from these forums about the game as I had the strat guide and it was a very slow day at work (I forgot that user name and came up with this gem instead).

For GTA IV I was deployed and had my Girlfriend go to the midnight release and mail the game to me the next day, I had to hunt down Xboxes not in use and sneak in 20-30 minutes here and there, luckily everyone wanted to see the game and no one had it so I was able to play a whole lot.

Now that I'm married with a kid, I'll be hitting up my favorite gamestop on Tuesday morning(I only get 2-3 games a year, but they know me there and treat me well, when I hated the last Halo and went to trade it in 2 days after it launched they treated it as a used game return instead of as a trade in (thus saving me 30 bucks)). I'll only be able to get ten hours at most in a week, so this game is going to last me a whole long time (and as of Sept 17th I'll be taking a leave of absence from these boards until I beat the game). And I wouldn't have it anyother way, watching a infant explore the real world and seeing their amazement is infinitely better than exploring even the best Houser rendered world.

Dont they do that for all games since about a year or two ago, that if you trade it in within 2 days of release they give you $55 towards another game

Ordered online.... I'll have it by 11am.

I never understood the whole queuing for hours, losing sleep etc when it can come through the front door on the same day.

Nah, I was gonna but decided to just get it delivered.

I'll have the day free so I'll be starting it with a nice long lie in, leave the house about 7AM and go to the local shops to buy loads of drink and food then go back home and set everything up. Post will be delivered at half 10AM.

I would love to do that but I have school and school is important to me. I am a gta hardcore fan but I need to focus on school also

You betcha. I will stand in line waiting for the clock to strike zero. Go in the store and hand over my money when a theif grabs me from behind. He stab me in the gut 8 times to make sure I'm gonna die tonight. I will scream in terror and regret leaving the house falling to the floor in slow motion. The thief laughs at my distraught face. He then says thanks for his free GTAV while I weep. The GAME employee becomes angry; he says I've made a mess with my blood and now he has to clean it up. The thief not only takes my GTAV he says he's stealing my GTAFroums account when he gets home. And he will make the 200 milestone post Ive been planning to make. I cry and then my eyes close.

Damn dude! That's a massive calorie platter right there. That's some funny sh*t btw. biggrin.gif

As for the midnight release, I never have done such a thing before but am tempted to on this occasion. As well as copies for both the 360 and PS3 ordered online I have the Special Edition for both consoles pre-ordered for pick up from EB games. I'll probably just wait till after I wake up Tuesday morning I know my copies are safe and they'll be there on release day so no danger of missing out.

Certainly not. I never cared for midnight releases and I feel they are a waste of time. I am more than comfortable with pre-ordering the game online and conveniently having it delivered to my home instead. I mean, I am certainly excited for this game, but I don't need to camp out for hours just for it.
