Police Patrol Mode in GTA V?

No. Why can't "high and mighty" roleplayers understand that their idea of fun, which is obeying traffic laws, holding real jobs, eating and fueling up cars, etc. aren't fun for other people? Why don't you guys make your own game, which you guys can make into a real-life simulator, so you can stop trying to make GTA into one!

Dafuq? It's an option! You don't have to do it. >_<

But the fact that it's still there bothers me.

And I stopped reading there. Why do you give a f*ck? Rockstar wouldn't make this game solely for you. Go away. Dumb-o.

Rockstar doesn't make this game soley for RP'ers, either.

Then why does it bother you if they make it for both? It's OPTIONAL, why does it bother you if it is there? It shouldn't.

It doesn't fit the character. Would Trevor really be rounding up criminals in the name of the law?

As you can notice in the video, you change your skin, you could use your imagination and make it your own character, no?

Actually, he would. He would make a damn fine bounty hunter.

I never failed the academy. I work as an EMT during the day and play lcpdfr. In fact all my buddy's who are cops and firefighters play it too.

Lcpdfr is everything we love about our jobs minus the piles of paperwork.

So you're suggesting that Rockstar add a separate game mode where we take control of a pre-existing police officer model and give people tickets for not abiding the law? Feels kinda funky, seeing as we're able to not abide the law with the other player characters.

Why not? Or leave it to the PC modders for the PC version, but I don't see your hate for Role-play really. Leave it be for other people and you don't role-play, it's easy.

No. I want it to be included in all versions (vanilla game) this time. Modded LCPDFR was quite unstable.

I don't hate role players in general, I just hate it when roleplayers think roleplaying elements, such as gassing your car up, eating to survive, tickets for speeding, etc. want to implement them into a GTA game. What would you think of a GTA game where you got a ticket for speeding, which the cops never frowned upon in any GTA game, ever, in the history of GTA?

I want this to be in GTA V so much. But instead of having a patrol mode that wouldn't fit with the characters in the game, I propose something.

How about giving us the chance to be a modern day bounty hunter? You could get certain cars outfitted with police equipment like the scanners, the computer system, lights, sirens, bars, all that good stuff and you could be a bounty hunter. You could respond to the calls and do whatever you please to clean up the scene; because with being a bounty hunter, you wouldn't be as restricted in your rules of engagement as much as a regular officer and it makes sense. You get your experience with being a law enforcement officer, and it makes sense within the parameters of the game world.

I wouldn't like it if it were forced, if it were optional it would be fine. Some RPG stuff don't belong in GTA it's true, but you shouldn't hate if it is optional.

Who is asking for that in this thread? no one. Just a more in-depth police mode/mechanic, that allows you to chase, arrest, taze, pull over people etc with full LSPD and BCPD backing. Like a replacement for the since VC present vigilante missions. There is a reason a lot of people love to play/watch LCPDFR..

Agree with this guy.

It doesn't fit with this being a crime game driving around doing police patrols.

Nor does it fit to actually buy a car or anything for that matter, do yoga etc. *Hands strawman back*

Understandable, but it really bugs me how RP'ers come out of nowhere with "OH LETZ PUT GAS IN THE GAME IF WE LOVE IT SURLEY EVERYONE ELSE WILL"

It's fairly obvious that it isn't going to be in the game. Leave the role players alone and everyone just shut the f*ck up.

This is such a pointless thread... Plus there's been hundreds of other police themed threads.

I fail to see what's obvious about this. Rockstar doesn't follow a set out path, they can add whatever they want, whenever they want.

They never go with the role players. I image there will be vigilante missions, but nothing with this depth will ever be in a gta game. I garuntee it.

Why such a big argument over a pointless thread. Rockstar WON'T make that, PC modders will, I won't download it, those who will obviously enjoy it, I don't mind. End of discussion.

Although LCPDFR is one of the most popular mods (Its practically the only mod I play nowadays) I don't think pulling people over or fining them and searching them should be included in the vanilla game. With that being said, I still hope to have vigilante missions where you can wear a police uniform as to not be chased by the police when you go after criminals on the police computer.

That would be awesome, I loved the LCPDFR mod. It's much, much better than the traditional vigilante missions, as you have full support of the police force and can actually arrest instead of kill someone. And for the people saying 'it's a crime game..', Bullsh*t. It's called grand THEFT auto but still a big part of V is PURCHASING items. So same applies to police. It would be awesome (and add replay value) to be able to choose which side of the fence you want to be on. Besides you could still be a bad cop, no one tells you to be law-abiding.

1. I never skipped San Andreas

2. Where in San Andreas was there an in depth police role playing feature?

3. I was quickly typing that on an iPhone. I couldn't really help the grammar errors.

5. f*ck you.

27. I don't give a sh*t.

I enjoyed the 'most wanted' side missions using the police cars in Gta 4. I wouldn't mind it being in Gta V but I'd like it to be more indepth and innovative. I doubt that they'll have something like the LCPD first response mod though. Gta V is about committing legendary heists, not pulling someone over to give them a ticket for speeding. I'm not against it but I just don't see Rockstar taking time to implement something like that in this game when there's already so much content already.
