Returning Characters from IV

I know there have been topics regarding characters from IV before, but this one is slightly different.

As much as I would like to see a few familiar faces from IV make a return in V, i don't think most of the characters would fit into the story. With the exception of a few (Johnny, Badman, U.L Paper Guy). Reason being is that IV was a gritty story based around killing people for money, a lot of the characters were from or had ties to mafia families, and I couldn't see someone from the mafia being involved in Michael, Franklin or Trevor's story since the story is based around heists, street gangs and biker gangs

How would they fit into the story, cameo appearance, maybe like those random character missions?

I think Jill Von Crastenburg will be in the game... --- REASON: In the screenshot with the Surano, there was a hotel in the background with a similar surname and she might be in the Surano with Michael escaping the Papz

While I agree that most of the people who existed in IV would be a mismatch when dealing with a bank heist, you must remember that this is not all the three amigos do. They're cold blooded killers just like anyone else. We've watched Franklin and Trevor end lives in their trailers, and we've seen Michael at least beating someone up. Considering he's the best with a gun out of all three, I'd suggest that not only would any person from IV work, but they'd probably be underwhelming when confronted with the protags of V.

Rockstar has always stayed true to their characters in 3D era when they reused them, so don't think they will just choose random characters here. They know which one make sense and will use those if needed. Yusuf would fit in, UL guy too.. can't think of more now. But Badman or Johnny wouldn't fit in my opinion as the way I see them they are kind of people to stay attached to one city.

i dont rly get why people think V wont be gritty - just cause LS is sunny compared to LC doesnt mean its gon be ALL fun and jokes

 

with that said, the opportunities for supporting and minor characters from IV to appear are numerous - they could be random encounters, we might see them in cutscenes far in the background or they actually might be involved with whatever major happening in the game.

Rockstar stated many times that it won't be depressing and gritty like GTA IV, There going back to there GTA 3 era humor with a good story and all that to back it up

Tony McTony, a character from IV that was on the TV, guarantee he is a character coming back, been saying this for months now, Count on it.
