I'd say it would be around 98. I can imagine many reviewers putting 100, then getting 1 or 2 complaining the tyre colour has too much saturation and giving it 80.

you clearly never played uncharted 2.

I did. It's exciting and fresh (and a huge improvement from the first one) for a little bit and then after two or three hours of playing it repeats the same formula of tedious shoot-outs and semi-interesting peaceful climbing (which also loses its charm fairly rapidly).

 

It is also one of the most overrated games - and series - of all time.

Graphically, it's unimpressive. No amount of lens-flare will mask that. More than one protagonist, harder to share a bond with. The list goes on.

 

GTA IV got such a high score because it was the first game on a Next-Gen system. 5+ years later, it's no longer that impressive.

 

The honeymoon period has worn off. People expect more. Let's hope GTA V delivers.

IV was good and I am one of the few who defends it a lot, but it REALLY doesn't deserve the scores it got, at best it is a 93 to 95.

When people are giving games such as BioShock Infinite, The Last of Us and Uncharted 10/10 and 9/10 then I have no doubt that GTAV will get straight 10's. What can people possibly complain about..? The draw distance? The graphics? The AI? All of that has since been improved as far as we know, even the gameplay. Rockstar still have yet to reveal us GTAV's multiplayer but I guarantee that alone will raise the score higher. If GTAV get's anything less than a 97 then f*ck the critics. Every other game is at 96 or below except GTAIV for this gen. I've played BioShock Infinite and I've also played every single Uncharted game, they don't deserve more than an 8/10 (or 80/100). Mediocre yet fun games. I have The Last of Us pre-ordered but the game doesn't seem THAT good. I know the reviews went out today and the game got straight 10/10 from the big game critics. I think the game will be fun but it can't be deserving of a 10/10. The multiplayer lacks a lot from the videos I've seen.

This this and this! The leap from San Andreas to IV is huge in terms of technology, graphics and AI. First ever HD GTA game was a big deal, so its understandable why people got carried away and it received 98% MC.

 

Things will be different with 5. I expect 95-96% metacritic score.

Every 3D Full GTA game has been in the 90s for Metacritic (VC, SA, 3, IV, CTW) TBOGT and TLAD got in the high 80s, basically whichever way this game goes it will deliver, with a high score that i'd estimate to be between 95 and 98 no more no less

I think it will get a good score because it looks much better than IV and I very much enjoyed IV. Whether it is as high is yet to be seen.
