slumdunder Posted June 6, 2013 Share Posted June 6, 2013 Some media outlets will give it to GTA V, some to Last Of Us. I don't think your game has to be an open world game to be the best of the year. If The Last Of Us is best experienced in a linear way, then that is the way it should be presented. The game I will play most from Sept 17 2013 to Sept 17 2014 is GTA V. So its my game of the year for that time period. If they release big DLC (which they have hinted that they unfortunately won't) then those will extend that time. Chances are it will also be the game I play the most for the year after that too, unless rockstar releases another amazing game or Bethesda releases an elder scrolls game (which they wont with skyrim out in 2011 and elder scrolls online coming out relatively soon). Bioshock infinite is in my backlog, im starting that game in a week. I suppose that game may also be one of this years' bests. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm really excited for The Last of Us, it looks amazing. I'm buying both LoU and GTA V. I don't care what review scores it gets or if it's GOTY or not. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy both. I could give two sh*ts about who names a game "BEST THE YEAR".. Think I'll just decide for myself on how much fun I had.
