UltimateVenom Posted June 5, 2013 Share Posted June 5, 2013 I was curious as to what GTA V would be classified in Australia, usually I check http://www.classification.gov.au/, however GTA V is not listed... Which is odd for a couple of reasons: 1: We now allow R18+ Games 2: Usually a game this close to release would have been classified by now. 3: While it is listed a CTC on many games stores sites (and posters), it is not even listed as (CTC or Ad Approved) at all at http://www.classification.gov.au Ideas?, Thoughts? Though that is no confirmation at all, but IGN knows more than the average man. Anyway... Australia will get the game and it will be rated R18+. Lock n' Stock Posted June 5, 2013 Share Posted June 5, 2013 PEGI hasn't rated it either, have they? If you're worried about it getting banned, don't be. With previous GTA games passing for at least an MA15 and the recent introduction of an R18 rating for video games, as well as the popularity of the series in general, I doubt it'll get the banned treatment. The game does NOT have to be done to be classified/rated. The actual game isn't submitted and played, rather they send a written summary, maybe the script, drawings, screenshots, and videos of the most questionable content, with the expectation that this is representative of the game and nothing that would change the evaluation is withheld. killer1869 Posted June 6, 2013 Share Posted June 6, 2013 @shifty66 Nothing wrong with our GTA IV any more. It was self-censored upon release, they removed blood pooling and rooting scenes. When they released the PC version some months later, they didn't bother censoring it, it still passed as MA15+ and so they patched the console versions to the proper, international version that you're playing now. I guess it's either that or they get in contact with Rockstar and ask what's the worst stuff in V. Sex? Drug use? Swearing? Violence? Ok, R+18.
