Well, the vanilla game (i.e standard edition) is still complete, the things that come with the SE & CE aren't all that special; A few cars, garage, some boosts, bit more tattoos and clothes, few more weapons (which are still in the vanilla game, only you get them right away if you buy the SE/CE), some challenges and some multiplayer character skins. Them not being included doesn't really diminish the experience, sure having them right-away is nice. But will you really use them.. IMO people like you who constantly whine about things you cannot afford ruin LIFE. just as I feel about people who don't care about anyone but themselves and are unable to see beyond how things affect them directly. i'm buying the special edition btw, but i am able to feel sympathy for those who cannot afford it and will subsequently miss out (even only temporarily) on features already on the vanilla edition disc. Everyone should have the right to get it. I shouldn't even waste my time with you, you're obviously one of those selfish, entitled consumers that throw a fit when a company tries to expand the lifetime of their game by adding extra, additional features. If this was a game like CoD, I would understand. But GTAV? A game in development for 5 years and has tonnes of features which will revolutionize the video game industry. A couple extra features shouldn't mean that much to you. And if they do, then its your choice for not buying them. Most developers include day 1 DLC as a dirty scam tactic, but do not mistake R* for one of these devilish corporations. Its funny too, considering you always say you're a true GTA fan. Yeah, right. They make a game, remove some stuff and then sell it as DLC. Later down the line I could see it as acceptable but removing guns and such from day 1 is a joke. I thought Rockstar were better than this. But as long as idiots keep on supporting it, it is only a matter of time when everyone joins the example set from EA. I have just recently changed my pre-order for a standard copy of GTA V to a Special Edition copy. It is the first ever time I have done this. I normally just buy the standard copies of a big-name game in general, as I am not too interested in the extra features, maps, and packs and all that other stuff to pay more money for it. I do strongly believe that gamers as consumers should not be squeezed for extra money for extra content in any game on it's release date. I'm okay with paying for DLC and extension packs, because that is stuff that comes out after the game. But to make two different editions of game an have one with extra content when both edition are released at the same time is a bit unfair and clearly is an example of games company being a bit greedy. But this is a special case, I am anticipating GTA V so much, that I want to experience everything that the game has to offer in it's content and gameplay, and that obviously includes the extras, so I'm just gonna have to pay the extra money to get this. While I agree that this practice is a bit unfair of Rockstar, it's not something that I feel they should be heavily criticized for. The truth is, you get what you pay for in this modern world. I am certainly not interested in the Collectors Edition with the hat, bag, poster and all that. It's pointless stuff to me. Why on earth do you keep banging on about "people who can't afford it" when that's never been the issue. ANYONE can afford it but some people would rather spend there money on something more productive. Take me for example I have zero interest in the collectors or special edition because the in-game content will be avaible to everyone at a later date. I won't pay twice the amount of the game just for swag. Could I if I want to? Yes but I don't want to. I'd rather spend money and the normal version and the rest of the cash on going out for a drink or another game or whatever. I'll buy the DLC at a later date. Maybe it will be included in the R* pass. The bottom line is we are all getting the same game no matter how much you pay, we are all getting a option to get this in-game content and thus nobody will be missing out on anything.
