Fail_At_GTA
Nah, GTA 7 will be a lot better. I'm expecting GTA 6 to be similar to IV, like how it wasn't really impressive, excluding the graphics and physics.

Six Paths of Pain
Lol OP..... you obviously haven't seen next gen gameplay vids? The PS4 & One are significantly closer to comps than current gen. It essentially means development is MASSIVELY easier, so we can get more detailed games quicker GTA as a franchise is so flexible because there are almost limitless possibilities of location & stories that can be made, there is no going "downhill", the leap from V - VI will be as large as the leap from San Andreas - IV... and with rockstars track record, they more than likely deliver Give it 4-5 years, GTA VI will probably have a map 1000sq/km, 5 different cities, F1 racing and you'll be able to do space missions to the ISS
Six Paths of Pain
Wait about 6-8 years we'll have a GTA with a map the size of a continent. Keep dreaming, lol. A continent like Australia or Europe is FAR within grasp of current computers to 3d map (topographically speaking) (which the new gen consoles are substantially closer too) Hell the game "Fuel" has a map that literally the size of Rhode Island on current gen.... so making idiotically large maps is definitely within reach of the next gen (PS4 & X-Box One) So a GTA with a 1000km/sq map is definitely achievable
Grand Theft Savage
I believe that V will be the last great GTA ever. I don't think they can out do this one. GTAV is like the new batman movies that reached its peak with The Dark Knight. There's no way to go but down. False. There is always room for improvement. Always. e1999KrayzieBone
Rockstar always finds ways to outdo the prior GTA. I expect next-gen GTA's to be utterly EPICO
GR7
There is allot more they can still improve on so no this won't be the greatest GTA ever just the greatest one so far.

Carmelo2
I just had a dream about GTA V lol I had a MEAN looking customised Feltzer, I parked it up and then went into ammunation to get a burner. When I came out everything had changed and I couldnt find the Feltzer, as soon as I did I woke up.
blakeney
I believe that V will be the last great GTA ever. I don't think they can out do this one. GTAV is like the new batman movies that reached its peak with The Dark Knight. There's no way to go but down. I think the last one they can't top will be all GTA cities in one game. I don't know how you can top that? At that point it is no longer about "topping" but more about "expanding", and realistically that task wont be "complete" till at least every major city in the world has a GTA parody! jamieleng
As much as I want to disagree with you, I think your statement has some truth to it. The game has the ultimate setting, the biggest vehicle & weapons list, a protagonist to suit almost every player, incredible detail, a fully detailed seabed, customization for nearly everything, finally stuff to spend your money on. I could go on & on. I'm not going to worry about it yet, but I'm having trouble envisioning a sequel that will top it. In fact, the only thing I can see improving next gen, is the graphics & even they won't be like the jump from Xbox/PS2 to 360/PS4. Edit: Actually there are more technical improvements that could be made. Like framerate, more npc's & vehicles on screen at once, better AI routines, even more fluid animation, particle effects, improved physics and other things way beyond my meagre technical knowledge. But I still stand by the rest, especially the location, as it has everything I want in a sandbox game. Edited June 5, 2013 by jamieleng

mawerick_mc
Well, Houser brothers and The Benz will not be around forever, so yeah, at some point GTA will not be the same, that's the sad truth. (by not around, i mean not involved in game production, or their talent gets distorted in a bad way by ageing)
cp1dell
I refuse to believe every GTA title needs to top the previous one. It's not about the next being loads better than the previous, it's about them each feeling different and special than the previous one. That's exactly what Dan Houser said they like to do with GTA - make every sequel have it's own special feel to it. That's why every game doesn't have all the features from the previous game in it, and has it's own unique content. They're making a whole new game each time, not an improvement of the last one. If you can't enjoy a GTA game because you feel like it's "not good enough" than that's your problem. I'll be over here enjoying every game for what it has to offer. I would hate to see the day, but i would also hate to see the day some shmuck takes over and kills it! Like if lemmy died would it be right that Motorhead carried on with some dick as the new front man??
