@ferocious... did you not read anything rockstar released? as ive already stated that formula you posted means nothing. no one ever said gta=gta sa+gta iv+rdr.... no one... especially not rockstar

Since you like "official stats" yourself, let me explain the mathematical impossibility ( at least, improbability ) here.

Officially, San Andreas is 13.9 square miles.;GTA IV is 6.25 square miles and, if "Officially", RDR is 27.8 square miles,

You get a size of 47.95

But GTA V is also 3.5 times * RDR. That would mean a size of 97.3 square miles, if RDR is 27.8 square miles.

The two equations simply do not gel with each other.

If RDR is 27.8 square miles ( twice as big as San Andreas ), GTA IV has to be.. 43.1 square miles.

bored.gif

wrong again... he said roughly twice as big!lol good try though cookie.gif

Okay, keep RDR to be 28 square miles - that is "roughly" twice the size of SA.

Even that proves you totally wrong.

You mean to tell me, the "room to spare" is about 40 square miles?

So, what do you think the size of Red Dead is? We are poor peasants. We have no idea about what "roughly" is. Please enlighten us, so that we can further prove the logical fallacy displayed by you.

Honestly if they would of had a bigger draw distance you would see how small GTA SA was. RDR you can see the whole map and it looks big. Plus GTA game was made on a different hardware with a different scale same goes with RDR. Only Rockstar knows how big RDR is.

yes i believe ferocious is a troll. all i have posted are facts. no finger painted maps. just quotes from rockstar. rdr is bigger than san andreas. gta v is bigger than both of them plus gta iv with room to spare. those are the facts.

Are you still going strong?

So you actually believe RDR to be "roughly" 28sqm? because houser said it? But actual mathematical measurements of the map is wrong to you? There's absolutely no way in hell RDR's playable area is any bigger than 13sqm.

That's a great picture. San Andreas is very small compared to Red Dead Redemption and this picture shows that perfectly. Good find cookie.gif

OP: It's been said already I believe but GTA V is bigger than San Andreas. Much bigger. Its bigger than RDR, IV, and GTA SA combined with room to spare. R* also said the landmass for GTA V will be 3.5x RDR map and 5x the RDR map with the explorable underwater areas included. More than enough game to keep me entertained for a long time. I really dont see this game ever getting old with everything they have implemented this time around.

Some idiots here don't realise RDR only has a playable area of 6.5 sq miles of the map, and the total map size is 12.

I like GTA San Andreas too. Quite a bit actually. I like it much more than GTA IV. I like Red Dead Redemption equally I'd say. If it had a sanchez then that would probably push it over the edge for me biggrin.gif However, none of this changes the fact that Red Dead Remeptions map is much bigger than GTA San Andreas. I get a kick out of all the people saying San Andreas is twice as big suicidal.gif If GTA SA were twice as big is RDR as you people claim, then that would mean the landmass in GTA V was a little more than 1.5x the size of GTA SA....lol sigh.gif Give me a break people

For goodness sake how long until people accept RDR was NOT bigger than SA, I've seen it said so many times

This^

I think it's funny too... imagine we had sports cars in RDR, the map would feel tiny!!

Also, it takes longer to go from one side of sa to the other in a sports car, then its does a horse in RDR... so how is it even remotely possible???

lol of course, San Andreas is really small compared to Red Dead Redemption.

Actually it's not, and the playable area of RDR is a fair amount smaller.

But GTA V as a whole is definitely larger. The news of it being "GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, and San Andreas combined with room to spare" might not be true, but it's still quite large.

I agree with Mr Darko, They said RDR map will be twice as big as San Andreas........ It wasnt.

It will be bigger, but not as big as they are saying it will be.

If you include all the non-playable area, isn't it bigger than SA then?

What? Lmao. No it isn't. SA is 13.9 sq miles and all of it is playable. While RDR is a total of 12 sq miles and only 6.5sq miles is playable biggrin.gif

That is your opinion and it is wrong. No one from rockstar ever gave concrete numbers on the size of RDR's map. In fact, the only thing they said was RDR's map is roughly twice as big as San Andreas map. By your wacky calculations grand theft auto v will be a little bigger than 1.5x san andreas which is ridiculous.
