BoyzNGroveStreet Posted June 4, 2013 Share Posted June 4, 2013 (edited) Sorry if this has already been discussed, but every GTA game has always been in 3rd, seeing really nothing but the back of their head when you're controlling your Protag, idk about you but it kinda feels like were just someone else we cant see following someone like a lost dog in a new city the whole time. If GTA was 1st person, it would somewhat be more realistic, as you are in the eyes of your own protag. And maybe if you look down while in 1st person you could see your shoes or whatever going back and forth while you're walking. I mean if they do do this, i doubt it'll just be this view, a 1st person view option atleast, they had multiple views when you were driving but not when you werent. What do y'all think of this? If I wanted to play a FPS game, I would play one those cookie cutter war games that get made every 9 months. We don't need to turn GTA into one of those. No to FPS The problem with making it optional (other than for vehicles), is that neither the FPS or TPS view feels 'right'. This is especially true with the last two Fallout games, where the TPS view looked like the character was sliding across the floor & the FPS view felt too 'floaty'. I haven't played Skyrim yet (I do own it), so I don't know what that feels/looks like. Edit: Sorry, didn't realize someone had already quoted Dan Houser. TakinThyBacon Posted June 4, 2013 Share Posted June 4, 2013 I am part of the minority that likes the idea, but I do agree that it should of course be optional. From what I've played of the mod in IV, it really gives you a much more "up close and personal" feel with everything, being face to face with pedestrians and the world itself adds a nice level of realism to the game. In addition it really helps navigating in tight areas and buildings, and the gun fights feel much more risky. With that said I do not see it happening, the Houser brothers have stated that they hate first person shooters so I'd say we will not have the option anytime soon (if ever). I understand the hate from other players as well as it would change a huge aspect of the game, but I guess I feel as though, if they add it as an option then it is not really affecting anyone but those who want the feature. Never did before, but that video makes me want to search for that mod. Looks great actually.
