Putting it that way it doesn't even seem so much. I only get paid four times until the game comes out, plus 3 weeks out of that I'll be on holiday. Nice. Raavi
It's quite logical really, the market for Microsoft is much, much larger in the US than elsewhere on this planet. As it stems from the chauvinistic mentally of 'our own products are better'. Europe and Asia on the other hand, predominantly are a Sony market. Meaning as much as; Playstation 3 will top xbox360 in GTA V sales. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise

Fraizer
@Raavi in the UK market there are more Xbox's Worldwide ps3 has now surpassed xbox360 in sales despite releasing 1 - 2 years later. Who cares! This is not the point of this topic. The point is only to show the number of pre-orders overall, not focusing on one particular consoles pre-orders. Stay on topic. The point of that chart is clearly to compare PS3 sales to xbox360 sales otherwise they would've just put down an overall sales numbers. And the chart is the only thing we can go by, as the just-banned-OP didn't elucidate anything further. So I'm actually being on-topic. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise

I'm merely stating that it was, and still is the mentality in a lot of red states. To put it in somewhat more understandable terms it's the; 'America, f*ck yeah' mentality. waikzguy8998
They keep talking 18 mil copies sold in just the first year alone. I'm going out on a limb to say that R* can double that amount easily. Just think about a couple of factors a) More than likely going to be a huge improvement from the previous GTA (IV) - GTA's not only sell significantly more when issues are fixed from previous games but increase drastically in terms of total sales for each new one that comes out b) Most anticipated GTA yet - needs no explanation! c) This GTA's targeting something all the others were unable to do... - It's banking on old-school GTA fans that never grow up (like me) + a whole new market of GTA enthusiasts (the young'ns) I'll bet safely on 30 million copies sold in the first calendar year (from Sep 13 - Sep 14)

Furthermore, you're acting like it's a negative thing, which is quite outlandish, really. As a healthy 'dosage' of chauvinism helps preserve national identity for years to come. Something a lot of countries have lamentably lost over the past 75 or so years, courtesy of globalization. But clearly you were under the impression that it's, by definition, a negative notion, which it isn't. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise
johncs154
Xbox's are cheap P'sOS they practically give them away, no wonder they have more sales/Pre orders its because more people have them.. The PS has always been the more expensive console. Working at a repair shop its unbelievable seeing how many Xbox's go down compared to the PS's.
