Making Money Quick

So someone made a dumb post, but it kinda got me thinking...

You know that in any game where accumulating money matters people will quite quickly post up methods to stack cash quick.

One of the Saints Row games had a trick where you steal an Armored Money Transport, park it in your garage, and repeatedly destroy, collect it, then let the garage repair it. Made a ton of cash quickly.

So what I'm wondering is, when these "GTAV Make $1,000,000 in 30 Minutes" methods come up are you going to use them to get a heads up on the game, or not?

I kind of want to not use things like that so I can enjoy the game with a more natural pace...but then it would be nice to have the money early on to buy a house/garage/car/sick weapon

eh i wont exploit glitches but i will buy as many businesses as possible and other ways in the game (maybe high stakes poker)

That's what I did in Saints Row 3 (before I finished the story and it lost all replay value), kept buying businesses to make cash quicker, worked pretty well.

I don't like exploits. I'll probably just do some small robberies to keep me going until I start making some real money. It's the main reason I finally decided against the CE. I wanna earn everything. I really don't wanna start the game with a garage and vehicles.

The fun of the game comes from playing it. It ruins all the fun when everything is handed to you. *cough* like pre-order DLC giving extra abilities and money and free items *cough*. Because then what's the point?

in GTA SA we had robberies ,breaking into homes at night with a van i can see this implemented in V or character driven sides jobs could do the trick also example :Trevor drug dealing with the Lost for quick bucks......etc

icon14.gif (i still preordered SE, but i dont plan on using some of the stuff it came with)

@djv3n0m it was said they wouldnt have burglaries BUT it was alongside "no properties/customization" so hopefully it was a lie too!

I actually think making money will be harder this time around either that or everything in the game world will be allot more expensive. I almost wish they would get rid of the money cheat since the main theme of the game is the pursuit of the dollar.

I agree. No money cheat. If you play the game and beat it, you should have enough of a steady income from properties and over the course of the game from robberies and such to sustain you. And still give reason to save up money to buy things instead of having enough for everything.

That's a good business model. Companies should take note.

I very rarely felt restricted by a lack of cash in any GTA thus far. Usually I have way more than I can spend, especially after the story is over and I couldn't spend it all if I wanted to (this is a common issue in many games and probably a tangent topic). Not sure if it's the way I play or whatever, but I've never thought "I could really use a lot more money right now."

Short answer: No. No reason to.

I won't use any get rich quick schemes unless I figure them out for myself.

Mostly I'll be knocking over liquor stores all around San Andreas, since that sounds like alot of fun. biggrin.gif Hit one, go to the next one, boom, boom, boom, going in a big circle around the island.

I won't use these kind of "tricks" or any cheats while playing the story.

After completion and when just messing around in free roam I might prefer these tricks before using the "regular" cheats to make money.

Did you play Vice City? You had to save a fair bit of money before you could progress. Although it all came from missions, you didn't really have to go out and kill people to take their dosh very often, it had no money cheat either.

San Andreas you had to go run a few errands to get the cash you needed to get all the properties, i'd like it taken to the next level though, so you really need to go around making money to buy things you want.

If there is no money cheat, I will not be using exploits either, I used to need cheats for GTA when I was a kid, but i've stopped since then, it takes out the challenge completely. Besides I think GTA V will be the easiest GTA game yet, games are getting easier, at least GTA is.

Nah.. I like playing it by the book. Will get my money the was I'm supposed to (robberies, racing whatever is there).

I stopped using cheats after VC as I realized I was too mature for them, they would take out all the fun. But I'm not against them, I enjoyed them while I used them and others may too so let them have it.

I just hope getting money is a slow process and things are really expensive. So if some Ferrari or Porsche in real life is $ 200 000, let it be that much in the game, and I'll buy it legitimately, even though I know I can always steal one.

im the same way. its ironic though because the reason my dad stopped palying games is because there are no more cheats in them anymore lol

Nope, which is why each heist has to go according to plan in my book, and if I'm really strapped for cash, no matter how much I need/respect the hired help I brought in, I'll probably kill him just to take his share, I mean dude - I want like at least 10 Lambos.

@Patriot_Action I will say this, AC3 made me feel like money was super important, every dollar you made, you actually made, whether it was through trade or hunting a bear, it was great.
