Habs Posted June 3, 2013 Share Posted June 3, 2013 I've been watching the trailers lately & I think the storyline of Franklin will almost be a copy/paste from TBOGT. Here's some information from GTA wikipedia, I'm trusting Rockstar for the storyline but seriously there's too many similarities. GTA V vs. GTA TBOGT. -In 2005, when Luis was 22, his life changed when he accepted a job from "Gay" Tony Prince to be a bodyguard. » During some point in his life Franklin moved beyond the role of ghetto-based street dealer when he began working for Armenian gangster Simeon Yetarian. -It wouldn't take long for Tony and Luis to see each other as a sort of father-and-son pair. » After meeting Michael and completing a job with him, both men grew a father-son relationship for one another. -He cut all remaining ties with his old gang (except Armando and Henrique as friends). » His personal story is he’s stuck between the world to which he was born and the world to which he aspires; Franklin wants to rise in the criminal underworld but his friends want him to resume the gang-banging lifestyle that originally landed him in prison. -By working for Gay Tony, his life became much more positive, and while he lost respect with old friends who saw him as a yuppie, he was introduced to much more money and glamour. » This was mostly because Franklin never really had a family of his own and saw Michael as a person with more professional skill and as a real criminal that could mentor him in the life of crime. -Armando can be seen to be slightly resentful of Luis' decision to work in nightclub business, feeling as if Luis has abandoned his origins and is trying to be something he's not. » When describing Lamar, Rockstar Games' Dan Houser said that even though he is crazy, he is a "good kind of crazy", and also a "very funny" main character, while his best friend, Franklin, is the opposite of him. Armando: '' Nice boss you got there, stuck up f*cking fag! '' Lamar: '' Enjoy them hoes homie. '' Armando: '' It's nice to see you Mr. Big Shot. Real nice to see you. '' Lamar: '' My bad Mr. Gold card. '' There's a few quotes & others but I'm too lazy to look out for them... I'm not pessimist but look's like 70% of the story is based on TBOGT. Dope_0110 Posted June 3, 2013 Share Posted June 3, 2013 While there are SOME similarities, most of them are common to many characters, so wait for the game to see what's Franklin's real story than compare it to Louiss story if you really need to. SO what you wrote is NOT the story, it's character background. The story is what you play and it will be certainly different just by knowing they live in two different environments. People misunderstand Franklin's character so badly that it makes me want to vomit sometimes. He is not a motherf*cking "CJ clone."
