GTA 3, VC and SA all related to each other as well, they just didn't have the same map. It was the first one on the scale they tried which could be why. IV is the only one where multiple protags actually share the same city and their paths end up crossing each other. And for me this long interval between IV and V with many other games is the proof that they will taking it seriously than ever. GTA is the Rockstar's leader. In saying that, I still think IV was more of a test phase because RAGE was brand new to them, still ironing out the creases and how to best utilise it. Of course all these past games weren't published solely for the purpose of seeing what they should do for V, BUT every game that they have published has helped them majorly decide what they have to do for the next titles. EA will close before R* do, why would they make whole games with loads of great animations and voice actors and waste all the money just to test out a f*cking weapon wheel, they say GTA V will be their best game yet but every game has been their best game yet. In 2008 IV was their best game yet, in 2010 it was RDR then it was Max Payne, now it's Vs time in the limelight, soon it will be Agent or Red Dead 2 or Bully 2 and GTA V will just be one of those other games that Rockstar make, then people will make threads like "are all the r games lead up to buly 2?" /rant Red Dead is still better then Max Payne. GTA 1 was released on the PlayStation if I'm right, why the hell would they have made it 'planning' for the 10th or so game in the GTA series and like 25th game the company's ever released so far?
