Official General
Okay you have a PS3. If you have not played these games, then you should DEFINITELY play these games before GTA V comes out : * Uncharted 1,2 and 3 * Red Dead Redemption * Far Cry 3 * Killzone 2 * Metal Gear Solid 4 You probably will not get play them all before GTA V comes out, but I would definitely recommend you play the Uncharted Series, Red Dead Redemption and Far Cry 3. Havent played RDR yet so cant comment on that, but I finished the story for MP3 on Saturday so the experience is still fresh in my mind. Ill be honest I hated it when I first started playing it but was determined to finish it as I didnt want to waste my money. Its actuall a really good shooter and bullet time alone is enough of a reason to play it. Some extra advice. I bought all these games on Steam so I wont recommend something that isn't worth the money. LA Noire - Play if you're in a Jonathan Creek or Poirot mood. Cool story, great animation and ability to play detective! Just Cause 2 - Doesnt require deep thought but allows you to just cause mayhem. Beautiful map, nice missions, fly jets, hop planes in mid air, the lot. Great fun.

roostersrule2
Red Dead Redemption- Calling it GTA in the West doesn't do the game justice, but it is kinda that but it's the most amazing game, my favourite game really. It has my favourite MP too. Assassins Creed Series- Set in the Crusades, Renaissance and American Revolution depending on which game, also in the present, it's an open world game with the best free-running parkour in gaming, and the early ones are very cheap these days even if the first one gets repetitive still a great buy and the 2nd is my 2nd favourite game. LA Noire- Another game set in the past haha, but this game I loved it's got the best story in a game I've ever seen, really underrated. Skyrim- This is a game you'll spend 100's of hours on, you get so immersed in the world and just walking around and getting random quests is some of the funnest things you can do. Max Payne 3- I'm only half way through it so I can't really comment, but it's a good shooter with a decent story, considering I got it for $5 really really good value. World is really detailed Mass Effect Series- Set about 100-200 years in the future, you make choices that can change the whole game, not open world really but you can kinda explore parts of planets, really cinematic has a brilliant story. Sleeping Dogs- It's Asian GTA, doesn't have the GTA feeling or polish but it is a decent game. The Walking Dead Games- I've never seen the show, but these games blew me away, there are 5 episodes and they are all brilliant, you get to make choices in this too, some are huge changing the game completely. mooby346
Well, to occupy the time as it has heated up these past few months, I have played multiple games, and I still have several more games to keep me occupied until September. I just finished replaying GTA IV:EFLC, as well as GTA IV, and I just bought GTASA on PSN so that will be the current game I occupy myself with. When I'm done with that I'm probably going to buy Max Payne 3 on the cheap, because I haven't played that before (I'm new to the MP series, haven't played any of them yet), and if I need another game to play before V comes out I'll probably just buy RDR and play that again. I'm also getting current on my heist movies so I can be current on them when the game comes out. I just bought Heat on dvd today, so I'm probably gonna watch soon. Red XIII
^ Yeah I too would recommend State of decay, loks like a proper survival simulator. I think red dead redemption is a little overrated, although its very unique and looks beautiful. Dishonoured or Deus ex: human revolution.

MilezDawg
If you love GTA then you will love Red Dead Redemption, I did. RDR is my favorite 360/PS3 game, I like it better then GTAIV and I'm what you would call a GTA Fanboy. I noticed alot of people said Skyrim and I agree, plus either this week or next week the Skyrim Legendary Edition comes out with all the DLC and updates. You can get Red Dead Redemptions Game of the Year Edition, I loved RDR so much I bought it twice once for 360 and the GOTY for the PS3

jamieleng
Well it depends on what type of game you're looking for. If you have a PS3, you're about to get the opportunity to purchase its crowning glory from the makers of the Uncharted series. It's not open world, but it looks f*cking beautiful, with movie quality story & acting and just watching the recent demo that was released (for people who bought GOW Ascension) got my heart pumping. Oh, did I forget to mention what it was called. I got Skyrim last week I'm playing that is a so so kind a game Is it a bit overrated? I have it in my 'To Do' list & I've never played an Elder Scrolls game. I've played Fallout 3 & NV, but I can only play through them once. TheFreightTrain
Here's my two cents. If your thinking of getting Red Dead, get it. You won't be disappointed. I was hesitant to try it, but after about a hour into it, I was glad I did. Just something different. Very well done. I tried the undead nightmare expansion, really didn't care much for that. And personal opinion, I'd skip Saints Row 3. I just can't get myself into it really. I don't know why. But I know me myself, this summer, I'm waiting on two games. Can't get motivated to play anything else, and I own both a PS3 and a 360. Waiting on July 9th for the release of NCAA 2014, hopefully that will help me kill some time. Then of course, like everyone else im waiting on GTA V.......*sigh* lol And lastly, L.A Noire was good the first time playing threw. Got very indepth and the story line was like none other. But after your first time threw, it just wasn't as fun being it really wasn't built like the GTA series we all know and love. Worth a play if you can get it cheap though.
