Now the characters would never make a thing of it, it would just be his name. Tommy would never be mentioned.

 

Since people are getting confused.... I'm not saying Michael is Tommy, I'm not saying Michael is related to Tommy. It would just be his second name, it would just be a cool little reference.

kinda old too. and even sounded similar...

How am I trolling? I am asking a question on whether or not people would like Michael's last name to be Vercetti. No where am I saying he is Tommy or am I saying he is related to tommy. It would just be his name, a reference or maybe even a little Easter egg if you will.

Exactly. You're all bashing this guy because of his join date but you know what... It's plausible. How? Because apparently Grove St. is back in a form. Ballas are back in a form. So are The Families (different set, but most likely same name). Now he could very well be a troll but the fact is...

 

It's really something that cannot and will not definitively be proven, or unproven until release. If the III era characters truly gone, they could still use the same name. Just like with Grove, Ballas, The Families. They wouldn't be related in any way on account of Tommy never had existed in V's universe. It would simply be a nod to Vice City, basically. Although I do have to say that would be lazy of them.

 

But then again it could all be a lie of Rockstar's just to surprise us all. Assuming it is the name Vercetti. They've lied about properties and customization options. Those are pretty big deals to me... They'd be able to lie about the whole III era thing as well.

 

Point being; no one will know until September 17th. But you all need to stop being so obedient with Rockstar. They lie to us.
