It's been 3 hours since it was posted and I haven't seen it here. If it's already been posted, feel free to delete.

The Examiner stated that you can only regenerate health to 50%, then you have to pick up health packs. Not major but cool to know smile.gif

I think it was already said on the GI's preview.

It's a mix of health regeneration and health pick ups and it only regenerates to 50 percent, I lile it.

I'm not a very big fan of this. I hate seeing little floating, rotating, glowing packages of health littering the streets.

Well, med packs aren't new to GTA.

I know. I just wish they'd change money from dead bodies and health to something more realistic. Nothing to really complain about, just an OCD.

Yeah. I just found it funny because usually people complain about the addition of new and perceived unwanted features, rather than the return of old features.

For the most part, IV handled med packs fairly well. You found them where you'd expect to find them (usually), and they were hung on walls or on the ground rather than floating or spinning. They did glow green, though.

Have Mercy

If they didn't glow, nobody would use them, at least most people won't. They need to make them visible enough.

The only thing that can be considered anywhere along the lines of 'new info' is the part about health packs returning. Granted, it was to be expected, but hey - have your glory in the news section.

i hope they make the healthpacks like they made the money on iv.. on the floor and small. maybe the size of a first aid kit. not like they had it before floating and glowing.

TIL very few people know that where healthpacks in IV and they worked as good as possible.

This game better be hard as f*ck. I'm talking Max Payne 3 on Hardcore type difficulty. Health regeneration in GTA = No challenge at all

Health Packs were floating and glowing?

I found them on walls.

Unless you mean in Multiplayer...

I think I like the 50% thing ultimately. I just hope you have to be out of combat for it to happen. Not "behind cover" out of combat or "I just ran around a corner" out of combat either.

If you can behave like Halo to keep Regen'ing Health it kinda kills the tension...

If you no longer feel you HAVE to hunt down a Burger Shot before you start the next mission, that's a plus.

Aw shucks. There goes the challenge.

Have you ever played Red Dead Redemption on Hardcore mode? You can die in just a couple of shots. Depending on how strong the weapon is and how close the enemy is. Regeneration also takes a while.

With that in mind, GTA is full of automatic weapons - and the health is only regenerating to 50%. There's still going to be a challenge.

I hate to burst your bubble, but that's almost certainly how it works. The journalists at the preview probably would have mentioned that, given that they could see how it was working during the mission. It probably just works like RDR but only up to 50% and without the red filter (since it'll just be a bar, you don't need the FPS-style 'screen getting more and more red' tactic).

Well you obviously haven't played IV. They lay on the ground they didn't float in mid air like III era. V should be similar in pick ups glowing and laying on the ground.

And if you hate them, then gta isn't for you buddy.

Talking of money - rdr did it best

Having to search the bodies for money, drugs - even car keys, or house keys for bonus loot would be great

Rockstar would be idiots to revert to floating glowing money. Follow RDR's lead

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

I'm not sure. I don't think V has the emphasis on (relative) realism that RDR had (it doesn't appear to have weapons holstered on the characters' person, for instance). I personally don't expect GTA V to shy away from more game-y things in the same way that we still pull weapons out of thin air.

Hopefully they change that or they could make health regen a cheat, since most people that want health regen want the game super easy.

I want health regen, I just want it as I imagined it.

The one thing that really pissed me off going through GTAIV was that if I lost health from getting overly adventurous with my bike or flying through the windshield of my car....and hell if I decided to box it out with some asshole pedestrian....

Well then I had to search and search for either a Cluckin' Bell, Burger Shot, one of those little diners that was only available in GTAIV, or a hot dog stand.

With health regen I could at least get away from any danger, chill out for a minute, and then get right into the next mission.

I think health regen up to 50% is better than no health regen at all.

That comes from a player who got to the top 20-10th in gang matches in RDR and plays a lot of war games and is good at any type of game.

I dont get all the hate towards the health regen even if its not up to 100%!

Like wasn't it annoying falling from your bike in an little accident where a car crashed you out of no where and when you got up, another car came and by tipping you, your character died..?

Or going at max speed in your sports car when an a hole taxi driver comes in front of you and you come flying out of the window and you don't want to speed up again because you can possibly die if another noob taxi spawns in front of you.

No, before that, you MUST find a nearby burger shop or a hotdog stand just to refil all of your health again. THAT'S annoying.

Imagine getting attacked in the wild, having to leave JUST to find a goddam healthpack, no thanks.

It's the same exact system as Max Payne 3 which could mean two things.

.The first is that Health regeneration will be pretty slow

.And the second is bullet damage will be much higher this time around, in MP3 a few well placed bullets will lead to your death and if someone shoots you in the head it's an instant death unlike in IV when you would just flinch and lose a bit of health.

I was hoping that health wouldn't regen during action like shootouts, chases, and fighting. I have no problem with it regenerating during peaceful moments.

Well I know that, although having it suddenly pop up around a person, even if it isn't glowing green, isn't exactly as realistic as having to check through someone's pockets. That's all I'm saying.

In Red Dead you looted dead bodies for ammo and cash....that would be so sick in GTA V....im also not a fan of glowing bullsh*t in a realistic world...kills the immersive experience
