Another city or Not?

I always felt after that "re-imagined SoCal" statement that theres a high probability of San Diego, Palm Springs and Tijuana like places will be in the game.

IMHO properties was always in game. I mean, what else would you buy with all the money you get from heists?

- cars

- Weapons

- "expensive toys"

- Cars, boats, planes...

It must have been properties purchase from start to justify all the money system..

They said you have to buy a marina to own a boat (or a hangar to own a plane and so on), was it always like that? or was it implemented now with all the properties purchase system?

 

It just seems like it has always been there..

therefore i believe they were lying about only one city as well

Properties are a relatively SMALL feature compared to a whole city. Those features get implemented and taken out during the making of the the game. They certainly did plan to have properties from the very beginning, maybe they had problems with implementing it or wanted to krep that for hype and said there are no properties.

 

But they said it long time ago, and even other developers said similar things, that map is the first thing that is made. So that's something that doesn't change on a big scale just like that.

If it hasn't been said before, I think they could mix some elements of SD with the limits of "LA". After all, nowadays these two cities has been almost joint, with the growth of the suburbs (afaik).

Just confused why G.I is top sh*t.. I certainly couldn't care well.. I'd prefer an extra city just like the next guy and his dog but, I could give two sh*ts if there isn't.. Though I ain't putting it past Rockstar to Surprise us all though, I am leaning on the "No Fking Way* side of the fence though.

TBH, recently I have thought there may be a SLIGHT possibility of LV appearing, because:

-They are hiding the entire north end of the map

-There are numerous highways/railways running to this area

-The game centres around money. Las Vegas is money in city form.

-Los Santos is a 'decent size', but not big enough to warrant being the only city in this massive expanse.

 

And most importantly:

-They gave a valid reason for not including properties, then it turned out this was a lie and properties were in the game (they weren't added just because everyone moaned, believe me). They have given a 'valid reason' for not including multiple cities, but now we know that they lie to build hype.

I doubt there will be another city, but we never know, Rockstar could always shock the world and have another city like Los Santos or Las Venturas, or maybe a small city instead.

It's such a dream scenario. If another city is in, I guess you could expect it to be noticeably smaller in size than LS as LA is one of the largest metropolis areas in the world. Just like in SA, both San Fierro and Las Venturas are both smaller than LS but still much still much bigger than the several scattered towns and villages.

GTA IV had two cities: Liberty City and Alderney City. They weren't really spread apart so it didn't have too much impact, but it was so nonetheless. Based on Jersey City, Alderney City was small compared to the giant city that is right near it. I think San Diego will get the same treatment here. It doesn't have to be huge; I'm picturing 1/8th the size of Los Santos or maybe even less. In the image below, Alderney City only covers the sections 2, 3 and 4.

 

 

All things considered, it's a very small portion of the map, but certainly large enough to represent a city that isn't the focus of the game. The impact will only be improved if you have to traverse countryside to get there.

 

The only problem is that there seems to be nothing South, East or West of Los Santos on the GTA V map, meaning the San Diego portion of the map would have to be North, which doesn't really make sense, seeing as a lot of the charm is that it's a border town with heavy Mexican influence... I guess there isn't much point debating geography before the game map is officially revealed though.

Agreed. Alderney is just a state next to Liberty. If you lived in a tri-state area you would know what I mean..
