Gray Wolf Posted June 2, 2013 Share Posted June 2, 2013 Ok i post this here and as nothing was done about it i go ahead and create this topic (worth a shot right) There has been discussions about Graven being commended for all his great work he has done in the GFX Requests and Tutorials section but nothing has been done about it so i thought i make this topic Now i know he doesn't care if he get's a medal or not nevertheless he's a hidden contributor and i must say over the time he's been a member on here he has completed a hell of a lot of requests but it's not just the fact he's done so much to help the members in that section but he does it in both quantity and quality, you can always expect one hell of a masterpiece from him regardless of the request he does it with great care and i must say he is one of the best GFXer's i know, but it's not just requests he does he also helps in general if you need help on how to do something in the GFX area he's always willing to explain to you on how to do something, He's helped me a lot on GFX, half the stuff i now know i learned from Graven As i said above he doesn't really care on if he is to receive a medal or not but he really does deserve one Don't let a hidden hero stay hidden because he's one fantastic member in that section and he can't go unnoticed like this, i have no doubt he will still continue helping out whenever this is successful or not Sure this topic may be a waste of time but one think i can be sure on is he get's my vote LiniArc 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Secura Posted June 2, 2013 Share Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) Though Graven may not have received a medal for his commendable efforts he more then likely has received numerous verbal commendations both from staff and of course the happy users who regularly request GFX from him. Personally though, this topic is unneeded as I'm almost certain that a member as good as Graven would have already been noticed by the staff, and it's hardly our job to go around telling them who should be commended for their actions. Not until the annual awards anyway. : If you see something that you think someone deserves to be commended for, just report their profile and mention it. No need to create an entire topic. blitz Posted June 2, 2013 Share Posted June 2, 2013 I utterly respect Graven for his work and dedication put into the GFX section, however, Graven isn't the only contributor to that area. There's a lot of people who do their best to fill in requests, and I'm not saying I'm one of them, but an actual commendation hasn't ever been granted to someone for helping out with gfx (not that I recall, at least). There's a lot of people who've helped over the years, Narcis, CCPD, Mockage, UNRATED69, and a few others including myself. Even though Graven helps out with a bunch of requests (and I respect him for that), he isn't the only one. who does so. (I still support him being given a commendation, though, his work is fantastic and if he indeed was granted a medal or a verbal commendation, I'd be glad for him). Just look through his post-history, you will see what I mean. Also, he has helped me with a bunch of headers too around 2-3 months ago. He deserves a commendation without a doubt! Shoumaker Posted June 2, 2013 Share Posted June 2, 2013 He helped me out multiple times as well. I'm surprised he doesn't have a Verbal Commendation at least though. Like other have said he's also willing to help anyone who is determined to learn. He made me a nice tutorial on basic animations once as well. What I also like about him is that he asks for nothing in return and is so modest. I've noticed what blitz has said, there aren't many members who have gotten an helpfulness award for doing GFX requests. Even Narcis doesn't have one. CCPD the only one coming to my head right now. Anyway; the only way GFX artists are noticed are through the annual awards which to an extent is based on popularity hence not giving members like Graven an indication that their work is being noticed. Hopefully, staff will give him some credit soon. We never know, they might have not realized the work he does till now and how much we appreciate his efforts. Graven is awesome yes, I'm not against him getting a medal, but I don't think the .png makes much difference. I don't see many of them, working in the V section , but I'm sure that the global mods that are on regularly would notice someone being reported a lot; just as they would take a second look at someone being reported a lot for rule-breaking. I do agree that Graven should be commended for his massive efforts in that area, but we can't forget that there are others in there that contribute too, even if you don't like their graphics. No need to create an entire topic. wait, you can report a profile or post for POSITIVE reasons? as in reporting and saying positive things about how they deserve a commendation for a post (most likely verbal in this case) or for their efforts in general.
