Filsoof
Hellooo guys. So I have got gta IV and a great PC so, I installed a good mod and it LOOKS perfectly but the handling bugs.. There was a handling line in the readme so I opened up the handling.dat with notepad (or whatever it called) and pasted the handling line at the car I wanted to replace, but it won't let me save it. It says: Acces denied or something like that.. I have tried this one: 1: Right click and go to Properties of the handling.cfg 2: Click on Security tab 3: Under Group or user names, there will be Edit, click it 4: Click on Users 5: Below, tick the Full control box 6: Very Important: Enjoy! It didn't work.. I given full control for me. (I'm the only one who using the pc.). I really hope you can help me guys:/. Regards. Filsoof. Xeorage
Think I've had this one before, I believe it's to do with the file being "Read Only". First off try going to the properties and see if read only is ticked. If it isn't then don't worry. 1. Open the file with Notepad ++, right click on the tab at the top that shows the file name. If the option for "Clear-Read Only Flag" is highlighted, click it so it becomes greyed out. Then try saving. 2. If problem still persists then just just do "Save As" and save it to the desktop 3. Now drop the newly saved handling.dat file from the desktop into the common folder and replace the one that exists there. That 'should' solve the problem if it's the same one I had. Just save it to the desktop after you changed the file. Then right click on it, press cut, and paste it into common/data. After that you'll be able to edit it without having to save it to the desktop every time. Another way to do this is to open Notepad as an administrator, go to file, then open, and find the handling.dat file. Edit and save it. It will work but I'm sure you'll have to do it every time if you can't paste it into the folder from the desktop.
