Blista_Compact Posted June 2, 2013 Share Posted June 2, 2013 Hi everyone, I have just seen that you removed both passenger airplanes seen in Michael's Trailer (pictures below) from your vehicle page on GTAV.net : http://www.gtav.net/vehicles/#aircraft We also know that passenger airplanes are not drivable in some games, due to 09/11/2001 attacks. There were drivable airplanes in GTA San Andreas (2004), for example AT-400, but I am not sure it will be the case in GTA V. We can also see, still in Michael's Trailer, that the airplane's door looks like an image texture (it looks like it is not openable) : So, I am asking these questions : will passenger airplanes be drivable in GTA V, and why have they been removed from your vehicle page ? Yes, and this is why I was not sure. But on the other side, R* said that there will be more vehicles in GTA V than in any other GTA. And as we can see, the airplanes are parked very tightly in the airport, I think it would be very difficult to operate a huge airplane in a very little space : Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes, this is what I think. The landing looks too "perfect" and scripted to be a real one. It's a shame... I would have loved to play Airplane Pilot and make lines between different places of the map. The only GTA-game that was affected directly by 9/11, was GTA III. Thank you for answering so quickly, but if we will be able to pilot them, why remove them from the vehicle page ? The (supposed) Andromada that OGpurp posted a picture of, is still listed on the vehicles page. I removed the two passenger jets seen in Michael's trailer, as I noticed the terrible textures, same as you. I believe that there will be larger aircraft that we'll be able to pilot, but also that there will be AI-controlled airliners taxiing the airport, and flying about, as in the previous games. I'm guessing the one Trevor is flying in the picture is as big as that plane in SA we had to use to fly very high in the dam mission and that's the kind of planes I expect to see. I'm sure we will still be able to do that, maybe with a bit smaller planes but that's still ok with me, I love flying with every aircraft^^ on my side probably more the Hydra/jets than the big ones even tho I loved flying from airport to airport with the AT-400 (and if not airport I was landing on really small landing places, that was cool xD) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Secondly, planes not appearing in IV had nothing to do with 9/11 according to Rockstar; the map was simply too small (and again, one airport..). The plane landing in the screenshot is pretty much definitely not pilotable, due to the texture. However, the planes in the background parked up may well be. The only issue is how would you get in them? You'd need steps. The big cargo plane that Trevor is in looks very much like a scripted Cutscene, but events prior to that scene MUST involve YOU flying the plane - I'm certain of that. Well, I think the big Airplane with Trevor in it will be flyable, as we see it in a lot of screenshots/trailers in different situations. But I'm not sure at all for passenger airplanes.
