LibertyKing
Most people here are talking about living city, ghettos, etc. But, what about the countryside? For me a living countryside means sounds, birds animals... In San Andreas, there was nothing. It was plain, there was not even a lot of vegetation. But in Read Dead Redemption, the countryside was really living.

Hopefully they have a hybrid of sorts combining the multiple small towns from SA (to give a break from nothing but openness) with the atmosphere of RDR (sounds, animals, etc) It seems like they're doing just fine on that based on the reports talking about things such as 1) Animals hunting one another 2) NPCs camping 3) NPC's fishing and so on
LibertyKing
I thought about this, but I don't think they will include those, because of disc space.
Guest
I thought about this, but I don't think they will include those, because of disc space. By your logic they may as well get rid of the game itself because that uses disc space. Disc space doesn't matter. Blu-ray has 25/50GB, the only issue is 360 but it doesn't matter if they have 2-3 discs. I'm sure 360 players would rather 3 discs worth of content over 1. GourangaMaster
Your thoughts on disc space are irrelevant, as waikz said previews have already confirmed seeing the various NPC activities aswell as wildlife.

Dude how you gonna ask for his opinion, then shoot it down even though its already confirmed to be in.the game?

I just thought they would sacrifice detail to leave disc space for more important things. But then, I see you guys are convinced that it won't happen so I'm happy with this. Tbh I think 360 will have two discs, but one for Single Player and the other for MultiPlayer
waikzguy8998
I thought about this, but I don't think they will include those, because of disc space. Aside from them being confirmed, adding NPC actions doesn't eat up too much disk space/memory or as much as you may think. Just look at RDR for example. You might see people chopping wood, chatting, playing poker, etc. in Armadillo. Yet, when you are in Armadillo, the same NPC actions are not occuring in Blackwater, Chuparosa, etc. They strictly load when needed/approached. If they were able to have a continuous loop of Real World Events and NPC interactions in a game 3-4 years ago I sure as s*** hope they can fit that in GTA lol. No disrespect in any of this btw. Just rationalizing what is known from demos/preview and what we know from past games to come to a rational conclusion

justgettinridiculous
i had to laugh a little the other day looking at old forums about red dead redemption. people were saying the same sh*t "oh there is no way they can fit it all on one disc"lol i hope they have random encounters like people getting mugged or robbed, people flagging you down for help and turning on you. same stuff they had in rdr except modernized for gta v. that would be great
FranticFatality
I hope the countryside is very live, with lots of animals, noises, good atmosphere and some peds around. The countryside in SA was boring. There was nothing to do but do stunts.
wwinterj
Chances are it will be like Red Dead Redemption. R* borrow things from there other games. The way I see it is GTA V is a cross between GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption.
Revolution-XW
I can almost guarantee you that I will be spending the MAJORITY of MY time exploring the countryside, enjoying every single piece of detail is featured in it .. I can only imagine when I get the game, after doing a few missions, finally, heading to the forest and walking with a pistol just in case throught the woods, next to a lake which I can see sone fish swimming in, and the reflection of the light of the sun on the water ...
