I haven't followed this guy, but apparently he has learned that a blogger gets a lot more blog hits and a lot more interaction on the web when he blatantly asserts wrong things. Everybody comes in to bash him, and as we know, no publicity is bad publicity. Next gen console sales are going to so weak in their fist year (2014), that there will easily be time for Rockstar to create a GTAV conversion by late 2014 or 2015, if they even bother. And I was probably right, until now. Now I think he is even kinda funny, I liked his "joke" with the radio stations, but the 2.nd time he brought this joke it kinda felt like sarcasm, was it sarcasm? If so he is again an idiot.. They'll think twice before buying a soon-to-be obsolete console. On the other hand, the PS4 will be able to run V through some service I forgot the name of. Yea I don't understand what all the fuzz is about. People know that you can have more than 1 console right?! When I bought my Xbox 360 (my first current gen console) I kept my PS2 around, simply because I already had so many (good) games for it. Most TV's have more than 1 hdmi port so you can have both consoles plugged in. EDIT: Even though Pachter is not completely wrong, the guy is a joke. GTA V will no doubt be a hot item for the first 4 or 5 months, but then people will be transitioning to the new consoles around that time. People will slowly drop off and jump ship to next gen... In about a year from now, it'll be practically dead (online). Won't have the same everlasting multiplayer like IV had and still has after 5 years! I can't see V multiplayer lasting for 5 years from now, unlike IV.... Unless they port to next gen. Vormek Posted June 2, 2013 Share Posted June 2, 2013 Pachter is wrong about this. First of all, there will be a 2 - 3 month window after V is released and when the next gen consoles hit the shelves. Most of the total number of sales will be sold during this period. Secondly, 360 and PS3 has a user base of around 150 million people. So what if 10% of these people upgrade to a new console? It doesn't change a thing. Most of them will probably keep their previous consoles so they can keep enjoying all the dozens of games (maybe even hundreds of games) they already have. It's not like they will instantly sell their old consoles just because they bought a new one. And upon release of the next gen consoles, there will only be a few dozen games available so people are wise to keep their old consoles. GTA5 will outsell ALL previous GTA games!
