People can have 6 GB of ram with a good CPU and GPU, or even 4 GB, and get 60 fps. Any more isn't used by most games, so it's a waste of money. I think only PC (if and when the version comes) will be the only real 1080p version. Why can't we go higher than 1080p though? Like.. from 720p to 1080p it is a jump of 160p. Why can't we jump with 160p from 1080p making it 1240p? You know that 1080p is twice as much as 720p? 1080x1920 = 2073600 (over 2 million pixels) 1280x720 = 921600 (less than a million, not even 1MB) It's quite simple if You understand basic maths, it grows vertically and horizontally. The difference is huge. 1240p would be closer to 3MB. And upscaling is nothing else than upscaling. Excuse me but I just realized that I failed hard at doing math.. Why would they destroy MS Claim of cloud computing and then again explain you in depth how powerfull the hardware actually is, if they just want to push it... Oh please like I would go to a sh*t site like CVG. I too visit tech sites like Beyond3D I have been at this lil game for little over 30 odd years and I can tell you now that whilst the tech in the PS4 is "decent" it is not good enough for 1080p @ 60fps to be the norm for this generation. It isn't about the hardware it is about the environment consoles have to operate in. As this generation moves forward people are going to want better and better graphics, they always have and they always will. The first thing that will be sacrificed will be the framerate, it is inevitable. It has happened in nearly every generation of consoles, there is nothing magical about this gen of consoles it will happen to them as well. Magic_Al Posted June 1, 2013 Share Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) RDR is 560p or 640p on ps3 not 1080p Both GTA IV and RDR rendered at 640p on the PS3 and 720p on the 360, but Max Payne 3 showed the engine has improved by rendering at the same resolution on both consoles. By render, I mean the frame buffer which is the actual image of the game which is then scaled to whatever output resolution the user selected. It was noted in RDR that the PS3 version reduced some details like how much grass filled in on the ground. However, the PS3 version of RDR was capable of handling dynamic sunlight entering interiors through doors and windows and casting sunlight upon things inside the interior, and reportedly this didn't work on the 360.
