I personally own all the GTA console games, and have been thinking about possibly going back and replaying the story on each of them before V launches. It gives me something to do and also kind of gives me a little refresher/nostalgia. Any of you guys going to do the same? I plan to do it in order of Vice City, San Andreas, GTA III and possibly GTA IV

I replayed every GTA game from 3 up to 4 but I left the final 3 or 4 missions from 4 unfinished so I can make that last choice and finish the story on September 16th then I'll put it on the shelf next to all the other ones. I'll most likely go back and play 4 every now and then. But Vice City and San Andreas I'll play forever.

No from me. Currently I'm playing Saints Row 3: Full package then The Last Of Us once that drops. I feel if I go several months without scratching that open world itch I'll enjoy GTA V more then if I had just completed all GTA console games again then moved onto V.

I've put so many hours into IV (more than any other game I've ever owned I think), that I just can't play it anymore. It's monotonous.

Now I'm about to say something that will have people running for their torches and pitchforks.

I never really played San Andreas until I downloaded it on the Playstation Store like a month ago. I'm not sure why I never played it...I've switched back and forth between console games (of all types) and MMOs on PC over my gaming life, so it might have happened during one of those times when I was MMOing it up.

I forced myself to play it for a few hours several times, and I just can't do it. The controls feel aged to the point where playing it is frustrating. I don't care about the story. I find most of the characters annoying. Even Free Roaming feels blah. So I've basically given up on it. Despite the pre-warning, I'm sure I'll catch some flak for my opinion. Flame on.

I bought Batman Arkham City a couple of weeks ago (Ultimate Edition was on sale on PS Store) but I think I already ate through the vast majority of that. Right now I'm playing RDR again. I'm considering picking up Last of Us to fulfill my gaming needs, but I'm going to wait until it releases to see if it's all it's cracked up to be.

No, I played them and loved them, i'm ready for something new.

Unless you count the fact i'm playing GTA III on ipod. But it's my first time through so i'm not playing it again.

I know for the last month I'll be playing Payday: the Heist 2. I might try getting as many achievements for GTA IV as possible, but I won't play older ones for the same reason as Patriot_Action. The only pre-xbox 360 games I played were racing games, so I'm used to newer games for other genres and just can't like older games which aren't racing games.

I regret selling my copy of IV and EFLC but I still play San Andreas to this day. The replay value in that game is second to none.

I can finish playing Vice City or San Andreas and I can literally turn around and replay it all over again the same day. I'll never not replay those games along with GTA IV + LatD/BoGT

I actually agree. Back in '04 it was so new and awesome that the controls and other hardly noticeable flaws didn't bother me. But I downloaded it from XBL not too long ago... I want to play it but I just can't. For the same exact reasons, to be honest. That, and the fact that since it's an original Xbox title... I can't even play online and be in a party chat with a friend or even play my own music through the guide button. I know it's not really that bad, but times have changed.

Anyone who could not enjoy San Andreas has something extremely wrong with them. Its easily the best one of the series (closely followed by Vice City)

^This! Though I think I might do another replay of GTA IV a while later, just before GTA V release. biggrin.gif

And yeah, I agree with you too. Although I tried GTA II at a friend's house before, my first serious playthrough was GTA San Andreas (then GTA IV). No matter how I tried, I couldn't bring myself to like any games before that.

I play a lot of old GTA games, just a month ago I finished Vice City again, right now working on Vice City Stories and sometimes on GTA 3.

I won't play GTA 1 or 2 story tho, I just play them sometimes for fun

I've got a couple of the older PS2 GTAs to start, never played them yet TBH, and I'm going to get IV and EFLC for the PS3 sometime soon, maybe today sometime.
