MetalMilitia
Well, GTA V would be first game that i would like to pre-order, but well... i dont see the point, i could just go to the shop on the 17th and buy the game. What option would be better ? and what are the advantages of Pre-ordering a game. Also, to add to this, i am not interested in any other versions of the game, i just want the original game, without any dlc/additional sh*t Thanks
AKalashnikov
You get to fly a blimp. Yay. Pre order and you can cruise around in it and stuff.

StellarFish20
There are a couple of advantages that I can think of: If you go to the shop on the release day you aren't guaranteed a copy of the game as they might have sold out, but if you pre-order it you are guaranteed a copy. In this case, you also get a pre-order bonus of the Atomic Blimp as well.
Johan
People still physically go out to buy games? Uh yeah? Stop living under a rock lol There's no advantage besides if you live in a crowded area you'll risk being sold out, and you get to fly a blimp. Anything else? kesta195
What are the advantages of not preordering? Preordering gets it you on day 1 guaranteed, maybe a day early, right to your door. Preorder incentives such as the blimp No risk of selling out No waiting in queues. Why wouldn't you preorder?

VincentPericant
I don't know if Amazon still do it, but when I pre-ordered FIFA 10 (could have been 11) they kept undercutting every other online store so that you would pay the lowest amount with them. When I pre-ordered it was like £39.99, and then when they dispatched I was only charged £25 or something daft.
blakeney
Depends what your local area is like... where i live if you don't go to a midnight opening and even then a pre-order is safest choice... you wont get the game because it will be sold out everywhere. TheBankManager
going to the store and seeing everyone else lining up after you all waited for years is an amazing memorable moment. Instead of just getting it. You have that amazing feeling people who pre order dont have, when its your turn to go up to the counter and have that amazing 10 second convo with the cashier and finally purchase it. Patriot_Action
going to the store and seeing everyone else lining up after you all waited for years is an amazing memorable moment. Instead of just getting it. My life is plenty fulfilling without needing the "experience" of buying a video game. Topic: 1. You could be in for a rude surprise if you assume copies of the game will be plentiful at your local retailer. 2. I end up working long hours sometimes and I don't always have the time to go grocery shopping, let alone go buy a video game. 3. I don't feel like wading through herds of teenagers and neckbeards in their 30's at the store. All that being said, when GTA IV released I went to a Best Buy early (before opening) on release day to get it. That was when I was in college, had a car, and had disposable time in my schedule. Won't be doing that again. Edited May 31, 2013 by Patriot_Action

I pre ordered just to make sure i can get it on release. I like the idea of a midnight release and knowing im DEFINITELY leaving the shop with the game. Showing up, being asked "do you have a pre order", answering NO, being told "sorry sir all the copies have been spoken for", doesnt seem like a good concept. Do i really want to go from store to store like a pub crawl without the seemingly sexy woman because you've had one too many drinks and think even a street pole looks attractive?? Definitely not, at least not when i can leave $50, and be excited that on the 17th or slightly earlier i am going to be playing this game!

GL trying to find CE anywhere on sept 17 Possibly, but there are usually a few in the back for years after the game releases. Even the biggest games like Halo, COD, and even GTA IV. They're never as limited as people think. It could also be my market though. It could depend on where you live. I have about 20 Gamestops within 15 minutes of where I live(3 within walking distance) and don't even get me started on the larger retailers like Best Buy or Walmart. wwinterj
Personally I only pre order games because I order online and like to get the game on release day. The pros to this are: - I get whatever pre order bonus - I get games delivered a day before release a lot of the time - I pay less as it costs less online. - I don't need to put up with the Jailbait that work in retail stores that try to sell me/get me to pre order sh*t games I've no interest in. - I can just get out of bed, get my post and play the game no messing about getting changed, cleaned up and going to the shops. - I can pay the game off in advance so then all I need to do is wait for it to be put through my door. Cons: Might have bad weather so the post may not get delivered. Small chance though.

I've heard of people getting jacked of thier stuff but that's because the choose weaker people out of the group. I usally go with a pack of friends to midnights. But since I lived in Arizona. It's practically crimeless. Compared to Chicago.
