Grand Theft Savage Posted May 31, 2013 Share Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) How about Max Payne 3's Multiplayer mode being implemented in Grand Theft Auto V's Multiplayer? In case you don't know, Gang Wars is a team-based game mode where the teams face off for 5 rounds in a series of different games. These teams are actually factions of characters from the game's storyline, like in Max Payne 3 you could play as the De Marcos Crime Family and fight against the Punchinello Crime Family, or use the brutal UFE paramilitary group to shoot it out with Commando Sombra's group. And all of these fights had their very own story behind them, and the story and modes shifted according to which team won a round. The modes were pretty damn fun as well. In Max Payne 3, there were up to 12 different games to play in the Gang Wars mode. Warfare All out warfare as gangs battle for supremacy. A gang must get more kills that the other in a certain amount of time in order to win. Showdown The gangs battle to the death, their strength dependant on the previous rounds. Survivor A Showdown style round but each gang has limited lives. The amount of lives depends on the amount of rounds won in previously. Takedown Take down a designated target. Meaning that one gang gets a player who is a target to the other team. In order to win this round, the target must be eliminated. Last Stand Each gang member has only one life to fight to the death. The team that gets wiped out first, loses. Short Fuse One gang must arm one of two bombs while the other gang tries to protect and/or disarm the bomb from destruction and loss of a round. Delivery Both gangs must compete to collect and deliver their team's bags to a single drop-off point. Turf Grab Both gangs battle for an important piece of turf. The team that stays in the turf the logest, wins. Total Turf Gangs fight to control multiple territories. Siege With their back to the wall, one gang must hold onto 3 territories, one after the other. Passage One gang flees for their life as they're mercilessly hunted down by the other team. To escape, you must follow an escape route. Again, each round has a story behind it. An example of a Gang War match is in the video above. Now, in GTA V, this could and definitely should be implemented once again, following wars between various gang/groups in Los Santos. Gangs such as:Grove Street Families Ballas Los Santos Vagos The Lost MC Angels of Death MC Los Santos Police F.I.B Team Liberty (characters from GTA IV) and much more. I don't want recycled modes from another game. Every fricking online shooter has deathmatch, team deathmatch, free for all, etc. Same ol' crap. Even as intricate as MP3`s Gang Wars was said to be, what I sw boiled down to the same basic things from every other shooter. This was the first game of its kind. RDR was the other game that ad any similarity to MP3's modes at all. 3) That's why I'm asking for more suggestions on Gang Wars. With the introduction of crews, rockstar could make free roam an aspect of the story, or even plausible. If we had the option of wearing clothes belonging to a certain gang, an all out blood bath would make a degree of sense, and those without gang affiliation would be almost like street criminals vying for some turf or cash. I didn't particularly enjoy the Gang Wars of Max Payne 3, I much preferred Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch though usually just regular Deathmatch. For GTAV I'd prefer they go more towards the RDR way of doing things than the MP3 way. If you want to fight over territory find whatever the GTAV equivalent of "Land Grab" is. Start it up and everyone on the server will get an invite to participate in it. The more participants the more you stand to win. I thought that worked quite well personally.
