I made this poll because there are a lot of topics about the size of the GTA V map and it looks like there will be more countryside than city. So i just wanted to get peoples opinions on this. Red Dead Redemption was cool with the countryside but that was different because it was set in the wild west. Games like Assasins Creed 3 i liked the cities but the countryside parts i found boring. Im not interested in exploring the countryside and hunting animals or whatever like in RDR and AC3 so im gonna have to vote for city. I don't mind if the countryside takes up more of the map but i want the actual city to be huge, at least the size of the entire Liberty City map from GTA IV. What do you guys think? City or countryside?

Countryside. Definately. Have you played SA? The contryside was awesome!

Ever since I played Red Dead Redemption I always wanted that countryside in Grand Theft Auto. Because they never had a great countryside in a GTA game.

I have seen what a HD city looks like from rockstar now I want to see how a HD countryside plays out.

I knew someone was going to make a poll out of this.

I found the countryside in Red Dead Redemption fun because it was set in the wild west like I said but the countryside in San Andreas i found to be boring. I spent most of my time in Los Santos and Las Venturas. When i play GTA games I like to go sightseeing. Nothing was cooler than driving down the GTA version of the old and new Las Vegas strips. Also times square aka star junction in GTA IV. I dunno but i just prefer the city areas, they are more populated with people and plenty of vehicles. Im sure if i get bored of the countryside in GTA V i can just change to a different character in the city, but because R* said the GTA V map is bigger than GTA IV, San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption combined I really hope the city will be big and it will take long to drive from one side of the city to the other.

I'd say countryside for V but I've got a feeling it's just going to be mountains upon mountains with rivers, lakes etc. and no proper towns, which would be extremely boring. Hopefully there will be some big settlements, so it feels like you're actually driving somewhere on the map.

For now, I've said city.

Countryside for sure. RDR showed me that at least one HD GTA game HAD to have countryside areas. V is the perfect game to do that.

City for me

I find it more interesting but also find countryside in such games pointless if it doesn't lead anywhere, so without a second city the countryside in V will feel pointless to me

Don't get me wrong it'll be cool and ill like it but would rather it led somewhere

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

I agree. And it looked beautiful in RDR. So I feel it'll be neat to see it in 5. And I cant wait to see how enhanced the Forests will be in 5 also. I'm really looking forward to the mountains ingame.

Well I chose the countryside, more stuff to do and more variation in the scenarios, but countryside without city wouldn't be good either, got used to that mix with S.A. and I hope V comes to take his place.

Normally go for countryside but city edging it for me, might be the lack of info we've had on the countryside, I dunno, wanna see how the beach pans out, the upper class areas will be good to see aswell!

I like the city but I like the off road feeling the country will bring. I don't think the country will be empty and boring like a lot of people think, there might be one main city but I doubt that R* let all that country go to waste. I think they will have small towns and small cities in the country nothing like Los Santos but like smaller cities so there will be other places to go instead of wondering aimlessly in the country or in one big city for that fact. I'm sure there will be plenty to do in the country besides hunting as well.

What are your thoughts on this.

if we have the vehicles for it (I'm SURE we will have them, cause a lot of them are already confirmed xD) then countryside, but yeah, they are really close smile.gif

Words outta my mouth, man. No more of RDR's fear of getting mauled by bears when you can drive a 4x4, and fire an Uzi out of it. devil.gif

Both. In IV, it was all City, too claustrophobic, to easy to gain a wanted level. Red Dead had an excellent country side (IMO) but sometimes it was just too vast, took a long time traveling to and fro' (having said that we only had horses, V will have all sorts) and only 1-2 npc's floating about.

If I had to pick one I'd go for Country, more space to roam.

It's very hard to decide on this one. For me, I'd say city by a very small margin, and mostly because I think city has more free roam potential.

How nice is it that we don't have to choose and both are in the game inlove.gif

Paper Mario

I need both!!!

Too much city (IV) isn't good. I need a good portion of awesome city and awesome nature.
