Do you honestly see the RDR map size in that picture fitting 3.5x into the V map size in that picture? Don't take all of theese comprarisons so literally, man. Also, squares isn't a very good way to comprare sizes. Area-wise if you took the entire image of the Red Dead Redemption map, there was alot of spaces around the edge of the map that you couldn't get to. When Rockstar has comprared the size of the map they're talking about the area of it... the playable spaces. When they said that GTA V will be about as big as San Andreas, GTA IV and Red Dead combined, they're not talking about laying the maps on top of eachother and that they all fit into the GTA V map. They're talking about the general feel and like i said the playable areas. In the original GI article where that comprarison was made they noted that interiors etc. was taken into account when making that comprarison. That's something alot of you here don't seem to get. The map will still be really big when you get into it, but i think alot of you guys need to lower your expectations a bit. /Your friendly neighbourhood whatever. I thought there was a thread here in the V section that got all 3 of the maps right in terms of square mileage. I forgot what thread though. I think you mean it should be (if R* is sticking with real life geography) Northwest of LA. It looks like it's not even in the game which is a downer but we haven't even seen all of the map yet so we'll see. I hope they do include Malibu in the game.. along with other things such as Staples Center and Dodgers Stadium.. but we have yet to see any of those. The point that there is actually no more or less accurate calculations. According to this thread: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=531982 GTA: San Andreas total Area = 14.500r sq m RDR total area = 12.000r sq m But on Internet I've seen a lot of different calculations, the most common among which is that San Andreas total area = 13.900 sq m. So I think it's safe to assume that total area of San Andreas is 14.000 sq m. This is most likely true and accurate calculation As for RDR, many people claim that RDR is bigger than San Andreas and on the image above you can see how much bigger. But this is less certain and accurate statement. As for GTA IV - it seems, it's total area is about 6.000 sq m. As a matter of fact, they are just a bunch of guys (fans like us) who happened to make a youtube channel that someone started to follow, as well as several others? So why are so many so excited about them? They have no special information, EVER. Nice work on their map, but it is grossly inaccurate based off of information we know. They will probably just be the port of Long Beach/an extension of the docks. With this predicted map shape it's hard to think what they'd put in there but Malibu for now is a safe guess. My other guess is a watered down version of Santa Barbara. If Malibu isn't included I'll be disappointed but it won't change anything. Seeing as how the San Fernando Valley has been left out I can deal with Malibu being left out.
