So is the ocean just going to slope down the east side of the map to the south like a ramp? And these guys are supposed to be professionals? I'm not trying to insult xrCore but he even admits himself that it was drunken guesswork That's why I find this funny. I am just another fan that follows GTAV. When I heard about CVG doing an extensive mapping I was excited. But then I found out I did most of the map work. I no longer excite. When I first saw their's, I thought you had leaked it yesterday. e1999KrayzieBone Posted May 30, 2013 Share Posted May 30, 2013 Coming from someone who unfortunately won't have the time to play this as much as I will want to, the map looks massive to me, judging from screenshots and the many maps I've seen. The city being roughly the size of LC is perfectly fine to me, especially when you see all the character different parts of the city have. The people that want an enormous city and are disappointed have to realize that in order to get that, you must sacrifice character. Rockstar treats their maps like works of art, to expect a gigantic metropolis with "urban sprawl" and monotony isn't in Rockstar's blood. Keep in mind the interiors! There has to be something there of importance and not just coastline and a road following the coastline. Another town/city has to be up there for a highway to be built in that direction. It won't make sense to have a road that just loops around the map for no use except maybe a view. I hope a small coastal village at the least is up there in the North. They looked at the mapping thread here and it helped them, and they gave credit where credit was due, but they didn't steal anything... especially considering that Rockstar themselves released pictures of part of the map in the collectors edition images. They did a good job and it should be quite similiar, although the countryside is way harder to map then the city, so the real deal might be a bit bigger. The point I made regarding the dam is a pretty huge flaw for them to make given they are regarded as prominent journalists evidenced by them being invited to a demo showing. The point of this comparison is to show that according to author RDR is bigger than San Andreas.
