Golfing with the F.I.B

I believe the three men (two standing, one sitting) seen golfing with Michael in the first trailer are F.I.B agents. After Michael, Trevor and Franklin have pulled off a couple of successful heists, the F.I.B pay Michael a visit. They essentially ask Michael to rat out Trevor and Franklin. He entered the witness protection program for a new start, and now he would have to go through the process all over again. That explains Michael's angry reaction, since he was banging his golf club into the ground. He struggles to find a way out. He can either rat on his two partners or ask them for help to take down the F.I.B. The player makes the decision.

Just a theory. What do you think the story behind this is?

What makes you think these are FIB agents? For all we know it could be associates.

Theories, man. THEORIES. They don't have to be F.I.B, but you saw Michael's anger in that scene, didn't you?

I won't bash you like I usually do threads like these cause your answer to that other guy makes you seem like a reasonable guy.

But really, theories should have a bit more evidence to back them up. For all we know he could've been angry just because he couldn't hit it in the whole. Maybe when you lose a game of golf this is one of animations. It's all just as possible, if not more, than those guys being agents.

It does make sense, your thread. I just don't think it backs it up with good enough evidence that's all.

It could be a scripted animation triggered by missing an easy putt or something. Like the scripted animations in IV bowling when you get a gutterball/spare/strike/etc.

He's at the same hole as the clip directly before, it was probably just frustration out of missing a shot.

My guess is that he was just pissed that he sucks at golf...

Of course I don't have evidence. This is just an analysis. I'm probably dead wrong, but I wanted to share what I think the story behind this could be.

@Druffmaul: Probably. It sort of looked like a cutscene to me.

Maybe NPC golfers getting mad? That would be funny.

Interesting theory.

I don't think the reason he is getting mad is because of the FIB agents though. I think he might have went over par or something, lol. Michael has been described as someone with a short temper after all. Maybe he is like Happy Gilmore when he golfs? lol.gif

As for the FIB agents, I guarantee there will be some important ones for Michael's story. After all... it's the FIB's job to protect Michael. So he will def. have some contact with a few agents. The question is: what will they think of Michael returning to crime?

The pic with three, the guy swinging looks almost dressed like michael, but the hat looks different, same guy or not michael?

I think the part where he is beating the turf is either part of a cutscene of some kind, or perhaps he just lost against a friend in an activity and now they do more than just say something related to it, maybe they act out their poor sportsmanship tounge.gif Or maybe it is something entirely different.

I think that reaction will be from a call or something from Amanda winding him up.

I do agree it's inevitable that Michael is going to have some big interactions with his FIB contacts. Might as well be during golf, why not???

I wonder what Trevor will say if you ring him up and ask if he wants to play golf or tennis?

Tony Soprano golfs with FBI agents.

A better look into the shots and what I see is the first shot is not the same scene as the other two which are.

The first one is next to a sign with number 8 on it, the other two number 5. On the first one he seems to have a white hat (whatever that golfer thing is called) and on the other two it's black.

Wow.

EDIT: Oh! Maybe Michael will own a butcher shop and the FIB will go there to bug him and eat sandwiches.
