Seriously now? Even the original "Swiping Kings" took nearly 2 months for you to complete, and it has less missions than this. It seems Jimmy has finally become a no-lifer.

Kidding. I'll try these missions after my exams are finished.

Lol, the best comment I've read in a while smile.gif

Well, to be honest, I finished with my first year of college about 2 weeks ago and my final exams start next week, so I wanted to dig into this mission pack since I haven't been around DYOM for a very long time and I didn't want my exams to come before I was finished with this cause that would suck very much. And yeah, when I look at it now, I seriously finished it fast smile.gif

Thanks a lot, man. Looking forward to your feedback smile.gif

This simply means that the commentary videos start right now! But first I'll ask, which point of view should I do first Jimmy? smile.gif

Well, can't do the commentary right now but played the first 2 of John's.

It is great. Feels more like a movie though, especially the 2nd mission, there is really not much gameplay. But your cutscenes are still the best so that didn't bother too much. One thing which does bother me, the difficulty of the 3rd mission. I still didn't pass it. The turns you have to do are unexpected, I always miss them. Going to try to pass it haha biggrin.gif

Great work, playing the rest later.

Well, I personally like Zack's POV more, so when you'll be able to do the commentary videos, you can do that smile.gif

Also, yeah, first two missions are simply about setting the plot and the intro to the main villan. Funny thing is that the third mission isn't the most difficult one in my opinion, lol. I hope you'll pass it soon. As I gave the advice to everyone in my previous comments, use ''Brief'' section at the GTA SA menu to read the dialogues that are happening through the gameplay cause you won't be able to read and play at the same time smile.gif And yeah, I tried my best to make the chase intense by setting the timer wink.gif

Thanks for the feedback so far and looking forward to the rest of the feedback, man smile.gif

Okay, i've done playing it. The style is same as in previous Swiping Kings series, less gameplay and much cutscene, but it didn't bother me, this MP was very cool and fun! icon14.gif

One bad thing is that you used 'follow player' feature that isn't stable and at some missions timelimit was very quick, so i had to re-play mission more times, well i like challenge in missions, but that was a very BIG challange! I liked how you conected missions with previous Swiping Kings series that explains how some things had happened and also it's fun to have two portagonists in same time, it complements story. icon14.gif Some missions have inspirated me, and you've finished this mission-pack TOO FAST, but the missions weren't quick, they were long. Making those long good missions that fast, it's fantastic!

I don't have more to say, this is just an amazing mission series! wink.gif

Thanks, man, I'm glad that you liked the series so much and even more, thanks on a such a high rating smile.gif It's good to hear that some missions were challenging for you, I was trying to accomplish that when making them, especially 3rd, 8th and 9th missions of both protagonists' POV's smile.gif

Completely played it. Since you did this on DA2 I'll put this in the same form.

Things I liked:

-Like always, amazing cutscenes.

-Great storyline work - althrough it is a "bit" inspired from Fast Six. A bit. biggrin.gif

-The drama you create touches me and I think the other players as well, it feels so realistic to feel sympathetic for the characters.

Things I did not like:

-In some missions, there is almost no or is no gameplay.

I haven't seen Fast Six yet so this pretty much covered what will happen in it, since I think you pretty much got inspired from it haha biggrin.gif Also one thing, I guess the PSM-pistol was an important thing in the film? I have been bitching enough about using realistic guns but SA's gun is a M1911, but I'll let it slide since M1911 and PSM are kinda looking the same althrough PSM is a lot smaller.

But like always, awesome work Jimmy, this time I'll rate it 8.5, not your best mission series but it is still great. And can't wait for your next series, whatever it is. Swiping Kings: Sequel's Sequel? biggrin.gif You better get your next series out fast, man!

Hey, man, I was waiting for your feedback smile.gif

First off, thanks a lot on a very high rating, I wasn't sure if I could've expected something like that for this mission pack, but still.. smile.gif

Yes, this mission series is pretty much totally inspired by Fast Six, but has some variations here and there. And yes, you're right. The PSM handgun was somewhat an important thing in the film and since I'm not familiar with weapons very much, I didn't think it would do any harm if I just used that name for a gun in GTA SA. Thanks for the tip and explanation though smile.gif

And lastly, I agree completely. I had been very glad that I came back to DYOM after a long time and that resulted in completing this mission series in what, 3 or 4 days? That was definitely too fast when I look at it although I really tried to make it as good as possible. However, yeah. It's definitely not my best work and neither it's my personal favourite mission series I made so far. But, I'm still satisfied with the way it turned out and I guess the rest of the guys who played it so far are too, so.. smile.gif

I don't know if you saw anything secret in this topic I posted, but if you have and you don't know what it means, we can talk via PM about it. But, as for now, I don't have any new plans about a new mission pack. If I'm gonna do something over summer, it will be something brand new, that's for sure. It won't be any prequels or sequels to anything I've already finished before smile.gif

Finally had time to play some DYOM missions, since you're done, thought of giving you a full review on it. smile.gif

Rating Description
Out of 10
9 Presentation

The base, the race's setting, El corona, they all look full and lively, especially with the great accurate cutscenes.

10 Story

A sequel to the succesful series inspired from the Fast saga, detailed, full of twists and action. The cutscenes made it so dramatic and realistic. I'll make a comparison once i get to watch Fast 6.

7 Length

For a mission-pack, it's kinda short, though the POV system adds alot, it sometimes feels repetetive.

6.5 Gameplay

As in most of your MPs, it lacks gameplay. Most of it is just driving somewhere to progress the story, or time trials. I feel like there could've been a lot to it, for example, in the ending, you could've put us in a locked cargo plane interior, we fight and all that, and when it's going to explode, John gets in his car, you gotta a brief timeout to escape before it explodes, that would've been better in my opinion.

8.5 Lasting Appeal

A nice MP, not your best though. The POVs was a great addition but needs a bit more work. Exellent cutscenes and story-telling as always, great job overall.

8.2

Overall

Great

Wow, a table lol. Haven't seen that before. Thanks for the great presentation of ratings and thanks for very high ratings all around. Yeah, this was my first ''experiment'' with 2 POV's and I didn't think it would turn out this good. I agree, it needs more work. If I'm gonna come up with a story that would make me wanna get into this POV thing again, I'll definitely come up with better things to elevate that POV thing.

Lastly, thanks for your feedbacks throughout the mission series releases, I'm glad you liked it overall. I mean, 8.2 is great and since it was my ''comeback'' series, I couldn't be more happy that you gave me such a rating. smile.gif

Update: I know many of you didn't like this mission series since it can't be played before playing the original Swiping Kings and Swiping Kings Prequel mission series, but still, this is one of my mission packs that I like the most, so here it is:

I just uploaded an exclusive special edition mission which is actually a race between Zack and John that takes place 1 week after the whole team got exonerated for catching Riley. You can find the link to download the mission in the first post in the mission list. So, for anyone who have followed Swiping Kings trilogy, I hope this will make you happy smile.gif

Oh, thanks for the quick reply, didn't expect that since this MP was over a long time ago smile.gif Anyway, yeah, I wanted to do this for some time now, so.. It's nothing really important for the story, it's just like a side mission wink.gif It's for fun for those who are fans of this mission series smile.gif So, have fun smile.gif

The race was awesome! It reminded me of Tokyo Drift. I had the same idea for a drift mission i did for the old Weekly Event by xGhostx, though due to the difficulty i had to change the place to San Fierro Hills, didn't get much attention back then. It was hard though, i failed about 10 times in many falling accidents. tounge.gif But i'm surprised that you actually perfected John's driving in that area, is there any tricks to it?

Oh yeah, when i was downloading, i came by that post credits mission, so i guess there might be a Swiping Kings: Sequel Sequel? biggrin.gif

Phew. Good that Zack's car is Elegy, so it's a little easier to take those tight turns with the drift. Also, like Zizo, that reminded me the down-hill drift race in Tokyo Drift, but first thing what camed in my mind, was the first "race" to the hospital with B in GT-R and Dom in Challenger to make it when Mia's about to born her child. smile.gif

@ Zizo - Thanks for the feedback, man smile.gif Yeah, I kinda had that in mind while doing so, but the whole Zack-John kind of competition during the mission pack made me do like ''One last race'' to see which one takes the top, you know.. And that's why there is no barrels at the end to get mission failed in case John gets down there first. The fact if you lose while playing as Zack just proves John is a better driver and that alone I think isn't acceptable to the player who's playing the mission biggrin.gif I mean, to be honest, I cheer for Zack, so.. I could never let John win biggrin.gif

Yeah, actually, I was considering the San Fierro Hills too cause I thought it would be impossible to get John's driving in line on the Mount Chiliad downhill, but I just started setting up route points and tested it afterwards and it worked. There is really no tricks to it. I just tried to set the route points as much in the middle of the race track as possible and not going near the corner cause it would definitely make him run down the hill in pieces smile.gif And yeah, there will definitely be a continuation of Swiping Kings: Sequel. It will just be a new chapter. So, the 9 missions from both player's protagonists (or 18 missions in total will be the first chapter of the sequel and the missions that will come after that will be classified into the second chapter. However, I will not continue it until next summer minimum, but probably even later.

@ WillBe - Yeah, man, you're right biggrin.gif There couldn't have been a better opening to the movie than a Brian-Dom race to the hospital smile.gif

Yeah smile.gif

Edit: Also, danik, in the future, use

code when you're talking about something directly from the missions of the mission pack to not spoil the story for people who might wanna play the series some time in the future. smile.gif
