DODI3OG
Guys, I'm getting a PS3 sometime this year and I want to know when do games' prices at PS store drop? At what month, etc. I've heard some games are free if you're a PS plus member.
Guest
Most games on PS Store are ridiculously priced, you would be better off buying a physical copy from a store. And yes, some games are included in PS Plus, however once your PS Plus expires, you can no longer play them until you renew your subscription. DODI3OG
No. I don't want to buy physical copies. I've told you before. We don't have any good video game store here in the Philippines. It'll just double the price for shipping.

Most new games you'll find stay at £50 for a while. Only when a game is around a year or two old will the price drop to around £20/£30.
SilverRST
If you want to play a LOT of games, you better save up and get a gaming PC. PS3 games are too overpriced, wether physical or digital.

If someone's questioning whether there are price drops on PSN games, do you really think they can whip out 800 quid for a gaming PC? You're not helping. Console games can be very expensive. for an example, NFS MW 2012 once did costs €70 on PSN! Too overpriced. PC games are cheaper than consoles versions. BTW, I won't buy a PC, 'cause it's way too expensive in my country talking about a decent one. Much more when talking about a heavy-work one. GTA 4's price was once at $40, but you can get the $30 digitally. Also, I've found some games on my checklist at a local game store, and the prices are the same as the digital ones. TAX NOWADAYS. DODI3OG
First of all, I'm buying the older games first, 'cause they're MUCH cheaper nowadays. I will buy the newer ones eventually when their prices drop. FYI, I might buy FC3/AC3 next year w/ this method. I'm not rich. I'm even buying a PS3 priced at only $300. Sure, I can buy PCs at that price, but the performance is nowhere the PS3's because things are too damned expensive here. If he can fork out 800 dollars on a gaming pc and get cheap games, then why not? If he really wants to get the PS3, then he must find a way to get cheap games but if he only can get them digitally, then or he have to get PSN Gold or pay for expensive games. IMO, going plus isn't worth it unless the said title is entitled to a PS plus discount. SO, I might just take a wait until it drops. I have a lot of games to try for my first year w/c're much cheaper.
SilverRST
I have a PS3 and I can say, the games are not cheap. Really not. I have a lot of games that I do like to play them but they are just too expensive and they are not really worth the prices. I have have borrowed one game and that's it. Even though I'm a PC gamer there is a difference between games and a new gaming computer, when the OP says "lots" he probably means like 10 games which would be around 20,000 rupees here in India (A PS3 game costs around 2000 Rupees here, you do the math for Euros and Dollars). While a gaming PC is five times more, sure PC games are cheaper but it comes at a big cost.

Well, that's your option. We have different economies. Either I'd buy them from the PSN store w/c is "not cheap", from the local gamestore w/c has the same prices as the digital ones, or from another country w/c is MUUUCH expensive. Even though I'm a PC gamer there is a difference between games and a new gaming computer, when the OP says "lots" he probably means like 10 games which would be around 20,000 rupees here in India (A PS3 game costs around 2000 Rupees here, you do the math for Euros and Dollars). I mean, I don't have that huge amount of a pocket money, hence I'm buying those games eventually when their prices are dropped. BTW, I'm going to buy them one at a time. More, when it's worth it. Alick
I don't know specifically when things on on sale, but they do often have a few ones running. I got Darksiders 2 etc. a while back with all DLC for under a tenner on the PSN store. However the EU/Asian/American PS stores are all different and have completely different deals/offers and at different times.
Johan
Coming from someone that has over 390 games on the Playstation Store I can tell you most of the time prices drop about every 5 months or so, or you can get Playstation + for even bigger discounts, for example Metro Last Light was lowered to about 47$ apart from the usual 59 for PS+. Most of these price drops are usually for a few weeks only though and others are permanent
DODI3OG
Most of these price drops are usually for a few weeks only though and others are permanent Thanks for the info. One of the reasons I've asked is because I don't want to regret buying a specific game only to regret buying it later on because the price has been dropped. I'm also looking forward to playing BF4, but it's $60 at Launch and I want a cheaper alternative.
