Hawaii is arguably the best location for GTA VI

Intro

Beautiful isn’t it? If don’t already know Hawaii is a tropical American State located in the Pacific Ocean. In Hawaii the temperature rarely falls below 60 degrees Fahrenheit (15.5 celcius). I’m about to show you why Hawaii is arguably the best location for GTA VI, even better than Vice City(Miami).

 

Geography/Climate

Climate-wise, Hawaii has pretty much everything. There are beautiful beaches, tropical rain forests, mountains, volcanoes, a desert and even snow(on top of mountains). In comparison, Miami (the city that Vice City is based on) is relatively flat. If you love Vice City I’m certain you will love Hawaii too. I mean, just look at these clips… They’re breathtaking.

 

 

 

Now Imagine GTA Hawaii on the next generations of consoles. For those of you who played Just Cause 2, GTA VI Hawaii will be just like Panau except with better vehicles, more pedestrians, and far more detailed cities. Although, GTA VI Hawaii will certainly be smaller than Just Cause 2’s huge 400 square miles(1,036 square kilometers) map.

 

Culture

Hawaii is a popular vacation site for Americans, Japanese, Canadians and many other countries as well. Even though Hawaii is considered a paradise by tourists, many who live there considered it to be the opposite. Hawaii’s main issue is racial tension between the American tourist industry and the native populations. The native Hawaiians believe that the US should have never annexed the islands and made them the 50th US state. Hawaii also experiences issues with poverty and the smuggling of drugs. These are the ingredients to an interesting story. GTA VI, if it is set in Hawaii will be an exploration of the ugly racial tensions and economic problems that exist within this so-called paradise.

 

Activities

Now, I’m not Rockstar so I have no idea what kind of activities they would include in a GTA Hawaii game but here are some possibilities: hiking, canoeing, base jumping off of cliffs, parasailing (in multiplayer), surfing, scuba-diving (already in GTA V). Since Hawaii is a tourist destination it definitely has its fair share of casinos. You will also be able to do the traditional GTA activities: driving flying and killing... except with beautiful scenery in the background.

By variety I mean cities, nature like jungles and deserts maybe? And mountains. Stuff ya know..

I would enjoy GTA everywhere, but I think they should keep it in the US of A

I loved test drive unlimited 2 which was 50% based in Hawai and 50% based in Spain. In Hawia it has amazing roads so perfect for car enthusiast but it's a huge Island I couldn't believe how long it took to drive around the whole island. Also there is forests, large towns and mountins so perfect for shoot out. The scenary on the beaches is sunning so boating would be great, even flying would be fun, there is a few big airports on the island so OVERALL 10/10 GREAT.

That sure does look like a good setting for a future GTA. I don't know much about Hawaii, but tell me; are there any huge cities in Hawaii?

 

I'd like to see the whole of Liberty State (LC and surrounding countryside) and Carcer City for a furture GTA, but not for VI as it would be too soon to go back to LC.

You have to admit though, having it in the US is getting kind of boring now. Sure they're changing the cities/areas but why can't they go for a different city, and maybe try somewhere different like Russia, Germany, Spain, Italy? It'd be like playing a Bourne movie!

I don't see how "Grand Theft Auto" would fit into this island.

 

But perhaps as another R* game? A sort of Far Cry type game by RockStar would defiantly we welcome in my books.

Hawaii isn't an uninhabited wilderness, it has a large city and several smaller ones. The populations of these cities are deceiving because they mostly consist of hotels which are not counted towards population. Honolulu is bigger than you would expect for a city of 375,000.

 

 

I think VI certainly won't return to Los Angeles or New York as those have been done already.In fact they've been done so well that having another game in them would seem like a copy and paste of IV or V. But that's just my opinion.

 

Lastly, I would like to remind Vice City fans that its landscape is flat and boring, unlike San Andreas or Hawaii. Sure it has some taller buildings but 6 peaks of Hawaii reach around a mile(5280ft/1609m) or higher

I know most americans on this board would be against it but I agree one needs to be done in europe. Lets not forget its a parody of real life so it doesnt need to be a map identical to europe but all the fun rockstar could have with british, french, german, italian stereo types.. etc etc

The tropical/warm climate setting is done to death in games.

Also, very unlikely for R* to make a new GTA set outside the US.

 

A new Vice City just doesn't work without the 80's setting.

And redoing it just with new graphics would be pointless.

 

I'm betting a new state including Carcer City (mentioned some times in GTA) and Capital City (Washington), and maybe more cities.

I doubt it will be in VI which will most likely be set in VICE CITY.

 

Maybe once they are finished with the whole Liberty City, Vice City, San Andreas areas then they'll pick a new place.

 

Hawaii would be good because it's an island and all the GTA maps seem to be islands. Also, technology is improving a lot and they will keep making bigger and bigger maps. Hawaii isn't that big so they could easily replicate it.

 

So yeah, no Hawaii for VI, maybe in the future after VI.

I really don't understand why someone would want Miami/Vice City over Hawaii. Hawaii has a big city and beaches just like Maimi. But what separates Hawaii from Miami are the mountains and rain forests. Don't get me wrong, Miami is a beautiful city, but it's a little too flat for my tastes. I guess people are scared to try something new?
