Limited clothing?

So i was just watching this video

 

 

 

And in they beginning the analyze the screenshots and one was from Trevor on a motorbike while escaping the cops. The folks from CVG kinda speculate on the clothing, cause they notice how Trevor is most of the time in most screenshots wearing that same white shirt and blue pants. I think that goes for all three characters actually. Now my theory is that Rockstar simply doesn't want to show too much of the new outfits and wants players to find out for themselves. And i see no real reason to have very limited clothing. Look at GTA IV, it had plenty of clothes for Niko. Plenty of it wasn't very interesting though. But the guys from CVG kinda seem to think that the clothing options will be limited and in no way similar to Saints Row, but that's ok.

 

I hope they are wrong with their speculation though. It's definitely true about Trevor that we mostly see him with those clothes, except for a few others, but not much. Not sure we can say the same about Michael and Franklin though. This is a huge game, all about money, all about owning things and what not...the clothing options should be plenty.

Game ought to have plenty of options, since customization clearly is a focus area this go-around, and I'm sure it will.

I think there will be plenty. I do agree with the idea rock star just may not want to show us a lot. You know them, their kind of cloak and dagger type marketing so it wouldn't surprise me if they are holding A LOT back.

I dont know if this means anything but i was watching the trevor trailer and in the one scene you see a closet behind trevor with only 3 outfits(one of which weve seen in a trailer before) hanging in it. does that mean we only get a few outfits to wear. Idk just guessing

I was happy with clothes in IV so I'm sure I won't be disappointed. I would enjoy to spend in game money on other things then clothes.

Yeah i was kinda afraid that it was gonna be like TBOGT, where you just stand there in your room at the closet and you cycle between a few outfits, you can't change anything there. But i read in previews about GTA V, that we'll be buying clothes at the store and that to me sounds similar to GTA IV. They could have put outfits in the closet in all three character's rooms, but it doesn't sound like it. Good!

Those are default clothes you get from the beginning, just like any other GTA game. Lots of people usually stick with default clothes throughout the whole game(unless they are forced to change).

Yeah i hope so too. Different stores, maybe one in a big shopping mall for example. Didn't the previews say that each character will have their own style of clothing? So clothes that absolutely wouldn't fit Michael, wouldn't be in his selection. While it sounds like a cool idea, it's also a small bummer...i'd love to put some urban clothing on Michael for example, i mean why not. Things don't nessecarily have to make sense if you ask me, ah well. I also hope it's not just full pieces of clothing like in TBOGT. I want to be able to select different pants and shirts, jackets etc,, not only full outfits like TBOGT and RDR.

Always found that a little strange about TBOGT. The character of Luis seemed the type to have more than a few pairs of clothes considering he was involved in the nightclub scene. What he had reflected that I guess, but the quantity didn't. Minor stuff considering how much there was to do and it was only a DLC to begin with.

Oh it definitely was a pain. But not only at home, also in the store itself. Games like Saints Row and Sleeping Dogs showed that this can be done a whole lot quicker, hopefully it is.

I'm going to be honest, I love it when Rockstar has preset outfits for the protagonist. It fits them much better than ugly mismatched clothing items. I loved it in TBoGT, and I loved it in RDR, and I hope it returns in GTA V. If not, whatever. I usually just copy outfits seen in screenshots and trailers and use those clothing combinations.

I just think R* don't want to show us everything. Maybe it was the same build they took the screens from so Trevor is most the time in the same outfit? We don't know how old the screens are or even if they are from the current build. I'm not worried about this.

Well Luis had some pretty good clothes, but I doubt that it'll be like tbogt. My guess is that it'll be a combination of IV's clothing system and SA's clothing system. Hopefully there's a menu of clothing to chose from because it was a pain in the ass to change clothes in IV.

Agreed. Adds for realism. In RDR I was like 'I totally need to get that Mexican poncho outfit' and I worked on completing the tasks needed to get it. I prefer clothing this way, where you need to do something specific before you're allowed to buy it. I guess it was fun putting CJ in a gimp suit etc. But GTA V has stronger characters and I think we should be encouraged to play 'their' part.

That's true, but it still gives a sense of freedom and options to choose from if they let you pick seperate clothing parts too. We'll have to wait and see.

I don't think its the fact R* doesn't want us seeing much, they just feel at the moment it's irrelevant to there marketing of V, plus you'd have to be brain dead to not realize all the sh*t they're showing now was planned months previously, if V wasn't delayed we would've seen all this in February.

 

The only reason V was delayed was because Rockstar got too comfortable and put too much on there plate to eat.

If GTAIV had some level of clothing customizastion, i don't see why GTAV wouldn't have it,R* just need expand it a little more with more headgear options like hats, caps and bandanas, thats what GTAIV clothing customization lack off, that and absence of hoodies for Niko.
