Anyway, I doubt that Valve will do HL3 until 2015 at least. Asswipes.

Hmmm, I know.. I'll get GTA V. You know why, because by the time GTA V comes out.. HALF LIFE 3 STILL WONT EXIST "Atleast to our knowledge". Oh, your trying to say if we were stuck on a island, which some how, some way had a unlimited power supply along with a Gaming Machine with a Monitor/Screen/TV which I'd pick? Well, considering I am stuck with one game I think I'll go with the one with the most Longevity and Replay Value... Hard choice.

Maybe I'm just being a biased fanboy, but how on earth can anybody possibly be more excited for any other game over GTA V? I mean, just look at the long list of things you can do in this game, and that's aside from even playing the missions!

HL3 better be the second best game ever made (GTAV will be the best icon14.gif ). It's been how long since HL2 Ep2?? Plus, with all the income Valve gets from Steam, there's no excuses!

What are you expecting on a GTA forum?

 

I'm not just saying this cause I'm on here but GTA V. I tried playing Half Life but just couldn't get into it.

I wanted to see how many people would prefer getting HL3 over GTA V, on a GTA forum. I knew which one would win, I just wanted to see how many GTA players would prefer HL3. It's not hard to understand.

These two franchises got started basically at same time, I voted for half life 3 but i'm sure i'd get GTA V as soon as it's released, and i'm not sure HL 3 is going to happen atm. because half life 2 isn't finished yet.

I really don't like the Half Life series. I did when I was a middle school kiddie who thought Valve was the greatest thing since sliced bread, but the cynical college student I've grown into feels nothing but distaste for them after endless TF2 hats and pretty much everything (that is to say, nothing) Half Life related in the past six or so years.

Half Life 3 wins for me. I'm only more eager for GTA V as HL3 is not even in the picture yet.

 

Half Life 1 & 2 are in a completely different league to just about everything else. And I'm not one for 'generic first person shooters' and all that crap. But Half Life stands out above everything else for me (that and Final Fantasy VII).

As a longtime Half-Life fan who first played it in 98 at the age of 11, I feel nothing but betrayed by the fact that there's apparently not going to be an Episode 3 out before Half-Life 3. The idea of "episodic content" was sort of a precursor to "downloadable content" so the idea was that it might be smaller and shorter than the average game, but that it was supposed to come out according to a DECENT schedule as opposed to Valve's usual Valve Time. As much talent as Valve has working for it, there's obviously an extremely lazy turd somewhere at an obscenely high level at that company. Now I'm sorry, I apologize, I LOVE Valve, Half-Life, Team Fortress and Portal. But if both games were to come out in the same month, I'd have to give it to Grand Theft Auto V. Besides, if Gordon ever met the protagonists, Michael would shoot the crowbar out of his hand, Trevor would force him to cook up some meth and molest Alyx and Franklin would repo his HEV suit.

It's not surprising, or anything to be ashamed of. Valve pretty much shelved the series after one sequel & two story expansions, mainly because their Steam service took off. They've probably had some creative problems bringing its story & mute protagonist into the modern gaming world. They made two games set in the Half-Life universe which I'm sure you've heard of (Portal 1&2), of which I own the sequel but haven't played it yet.
