Ma-mothers-Ma-Sister
So by now we all already know you can customize peformance/parts/vinels ect ect And to me this game already looks better than most racing games driving wise It looks more realistic and sure as hell more fun. What do you guys think?
Racecarlock
We'll see how it handles during actual gameplay. Then I'll judge it.
Hiphiphorhay
they might as well just add a bunch of sports games in there as mini games. go to the high school and play football nfl 13. go to the skatepark and plate skate 3. etc it definitely has the driving mechs already to be a racing game. Pregnantplatypus
They may decide to give cars no weight and let you go around corners unrealisticly I hope R* Doesnt try to hard to mimic racing games unless they can back it with realistic feeling cars. Bomberlegend
Why would they try to create another racing game when they have Midnight Club?
Mr Snitcher
Why would they try to create another racing game when they have Midnight Club? REMEMBER --> "more like a racing game" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto_V#Gameplay
zainzombie
Why would they try to create another racing game when they have Midnight Club? Im not sure, but I read somewhere that Midnight Club series is dead (for now, they might bring it back but I dont think so). OT, I hope its a perfect mix of MC:LA and IV driving mechanics. I loved MC: LA so I am really looking forward to all the similarities. As far as V being a racing game, I think it will.. but lets see. Dope_0110
Give me some kind of a small story around it, a city or country wide list where you see racers whom you can search for and race and that's all the racing I'd ever need without having to leave GTA for any other ''real'' racing game. TyphoonJames
If GTA IV was anything to go by, it was extremely satisfying to drive. They have bumped up the handling and road holding, so maybe if they were driving games, IV was more of a sim and many consider the changes in V to be arcade-ish in nature. But this of course depends on the extent of the driving changes.

Side-missions you meant Anything just to make it more official looking. Unlike previous GTA's where you'd just start a race from a certain place (VC and SA) an drive to the location and race, but you felt no connection to that whole racing thing. In IV it was a tiny bit better talking to Brucie but still there was no sense that I'm in that racing world. Since Franklin is the driver and in the business of stealing cars, his personal story might include some racing maybe. With all the customization in the game it would really be a shame not to have proper racing.

Well, let's stick back to the classic and new at the same time
CryptReaperDorian
The GTA series was originally supposed to be almost strictly a racing game, and the the prototype of the first game was called "Race'n'Chase". Now, I have never driven a vehicle at something like 150 miles per hour (not even close), but I'm sure GTA V's driving will still be even more realistic than the driving in quite a few dedicated racing games. So, I think GTA V can be taken seriously as a racing game.
BlackNoise
I've always thought of GTA as a racing game as well as a shooter. "Open world" isn't a genre, so all I care about is what I do in the game. I shoot and I drive. Sometimes I only drive. GTA V sounds exactly like an open world racing game, but it's better because you can do other sh*t as well.
