MetalMilitia
IV ran perfectly fine on PS3. There's nothing to complain about. SA has acceptable graphics. You can actually see. There's no reason to complain. You can start complaining about how the game runs terribly or how poor your port is when you see the PS2 version of Just Cause 1. Here's a comparison. X360 version PS2 version No, i dont agree with you at all, once you get into a traffic, the fps decrease, this is well annoying especially when you speeding. Thats why id rather have GTA SA graphics, but higher FPS
LittleBlueTroll
This is the thing; that was intentional. IV was set during autumn, not summer. NYC and the story, are not bright sunny tropical warm feelings. If they had it with Vice City colour pallet etc, it would feel very very weird. It had this grounded, gritty, feel. It wasn't a rags to riches or a "yay" game. That said, had you ever gone into settings and turned the saturation up? I had, and it actually got very colourful. Perhaps i just have a better TV or perhaps playing through component (more vibrant than Hdmi on my tv) made it more colourful. V will be brighter and sunnier, warmer and lighter. It's a different game, a step away. Look at GTA III - comapare that to VC. One is "dull" and "grey" the other is "bright" and "sunny". Sure IV COULD have been brighter but with the use of the in game settings and those of the TV, i managed to make it very bright with very little effort. It's about tweaking. I've tweaked RDR's settings and that of other games too, and they look good. One game won't look the same on every TV. You have to tweak your settings in game and on the TV for your needs. Those that say GTA IV had no colour, I feel, are colour blind or lazy. Sure, it wasn't the golden sunkissed of Vice City, but it was still colourful, enough for the setting and theme. On any hand V will "fix" that, not that it need it. Ironically, I think I'll turn the satuation/ brightness down when I get it. You do make some very good points, and you're right my Xbox is run through a HDMI cable, not component. I will play about with the settings and see if i can get it just a little bit brighter than it is now.
creed200569
The thing that bugs me the most is that there are only few peds and cars on the streets. I know that current-gen consoles can't handle more but it's Los Santos (Los Angeles) we're talking about. Aly Zaroon
Well, i played some Episodes from Liberty City on my ps3 and i have to say that, well, the graphics are awesome, but the cause fps lag and fps decrease drastically (Alliteration, see what i did there) anyways in my opinion, graphics are not important, obviosuly its nice to see some beautiful scenary, however, in GTA 5 i would rather have worse graphics and more FPS than better graphics and chunky gameplay, f*ck the graphics, its about the story line and how the game presents, not about noticing how many spots does a character have. Whats your opinion GTAV graphics like red dead redemption more or less and red dead has the best graphics of rockstar games in open world gern
tenpennyisplainevil
It looks like somebody's grade 9 English class is finally starting to teach those useless literary terms that you'll more than likely never use post-high school. Btw that was a pathetic example of alliteration. I speak better examples of alliteration unintentionally! Anyways, I don't feel comfortable with either of the two - dropping FPS or graphics. Thankfully, the graphics look beautiful and I somehow doubt R* would release V with some bad FPS issues. Anyways, this is part of the reason as to why I'm really hoping for V to come to PS4 (as a PC port). Exactly what I was thinking
ForDaNords
I want to have the game as great as it can be, I don't care too much about graphics, but I do want them to look nice, GTA IV looked horrible at PS3, I hope and know that GTA5 is an improvement. WTF? Where you pople have eyes... GTA IV is the best looking open world game on ps3 yet . Are you kidding me? RDR has the best graphics for an open world game on PS3. It's bloody incredible for consoles. There's also a bunch of games that come in between.

I'm playing it now & while it is nice, there's just something magical about how RDR looks. I've only unlocked half the map, but so far it's just jungle, while RDR had three very distinct areas. They would say some funny ass sh*t lol R* did something very clever to make it look like there was a greater variety of peds than there actually was. For instance, they would take a base model of a pedestrian, change the clothes, variations in skin tone, different hairstyles & colour etc. You only really noticed this if you stop & study them, because they look like a different model at a glance. I never played IV online, so was this possible as part of the multiplayer character customization? It's a trick that is simple & very effective, yet with Saints Row 2 & 3 (which has a huge character customization feature) you'd still see identical looking npc's walking side by side down the street. I can only put it down to developer laziness.

hfojwfodijosijofidj
I'm assuming the graphics will be about the same as Red Dead Redemption, and that's perfect for me, I wouldn't expect anything more or much less, graphics are important, like people say they aren't but they really are, you don't notice, so I want a balance, and I want them to be at least as good as GTA IV TBOGT... Grand Theft Savage
f*ck that. I can't play games with sh*tty graphics anymore. I've grown accustomed to this gen's graphic technology. wwinterj
They meant 5x different peds, not 5x as many peds walking the street at the same time. I interpret it as having 5 x the population of GTA V. Simply because the map is bigger. If they meant different types of peds then why not say that? With that said I suppose in the countryside and the like the animal population will be more then that in the city so I guess the animals could make up the numbers. Whats your opinion I just want to-for once- see a free roam, open world sandbox game, run smoothly on my xbox. I remembered playing AC3 (which is just.. crazy beautiful in the cities) and sometimes I could really feel how the xbox stopped puching itself and the game started running smooth, for example when you were going for an eagle drop (or what it's called). same thing in gta 4, when you went inside a building you could really see how the fps lag just disappeared and it feels so awesome, I wish I had a good PC sometimes. So no I wouldn't care about the graphics, as long as the game feels comfortable playing without lagging

AuSsIeThUnDeR36
I think we need to remember and I'm going to have to be frank here, that IV was basically the 'Test Phase In' for a gta on the latest platforms. Hence why it wasn't perfect but still it's quite playable and enjoyable. As long as you can deal with the blurry draw distance. 5.5 years later, Rockstar have fully understood RAGE and it's limits to bring to us GTA V. The best of the best at the end of this console cycle. They did the same thing with Ps2. At the end of that cycle, they gave us GTA SA and man did they give it. So now, the same thing is happening - end of the console cycle, epic game.

X360 version PS2 version The hell are you doing there? X360 is MUCH, MUCH more powerful than the PS2. You can't seriously expect more from the PS2. How can you possibly think developers would be able to MAGICALLY improve the graphics of that game? can you give any examples of games on PS2 that look significantly better than Just Cause 1 on PS2? You wonder why DOOM 3, Far Cry, Half Life 2 and much more never came to PS2? because of the weak hardware. Having stronger hardware for a console does not only improve graphics but will allow for much more things.
Guest
can you give any examples of games on PS2 that look significantly better than Just Cause 1 on PS2? Yes. Pretty much every GTA released on PS2 looks drastically better than JC1. Including GTA 3, released FIVE years before JC1. If you want even better looking, take a look at Black or Gran Turismo 4. PS2 could have done MUCH MUCH more for JC1, but the port was terrible, thus resulting in a terrible game.
