MetalMilitia
Well, i played some Episodes from Liberty City on my ps3 and i have to say that, well, the graphics are awesome, but the cause fps lag and fps decrease drastically (Alliteration, see what i did there) anyways in my opinion, graphics are not important, obviosuly its nice to see some beautiful scenary, however, in GTA 5 i would rather have worse graphics and more FPS than better graphics and chunky gameplay, f*ck the graphics, its about the story line and how the game presents, not about noticing how many spots does a character have. Whats your opinion
MosquitoSmasher
How about a good balance? If we are to believe that Polish previewer, the game runs very smoothly. But then...there were plenty previewers at the time of GTA IV that said the exact same thing...so yeah.... He also said it looks just as good as RDR. So if that's truly the case and the framerate is smooth. That would be absolutely fantastic.

Durden
It looks like somebody's grade 9 English class is finally starting to teach those useless literary terms that you'll more than likely never use post-high school. Btw that was a pathetic example of alliteration. I speak better examples of alliteration unintentionally! Anyways, I don't feel comfortable with either of the two - dropping FPS or graphics. Thankfully, the graphics look beautiful and I somehow doubt R* would release V with some bad FPS issues. Anyways, this is part of the reason as to why I'm really hoping for V to come to PS4 (as a PC port).

K20
rather V have same graphics as IV.... it wasn't bad or anything. Anything better and there will be drop in FPS and some lag on heavy traffic.

No, he's just being honest. You don't have to think the visuals are perfect. I agree gameplay is more important, but R* is good at balancing both. It won't be as perfect of a balance as MP3, but GTA V will probably be beautiful. I also agree about the frame rate being very important. I think GTA IV had problems because it was their first open world game with their new tech. Edited May 29, 2013 by BlackNoise
AuSsIeThUnDeR36
Personally I couldn't care less about the graphics. As long as they update the police A.I. and peds interaction, make it in SA graphics. Mokrie Dela
EFLC didn't improve graphics, but brightened the colour. Making it more vibrant makes things look better compared to the "greyness" of IV* V looks a bit better but still much of the same (of course). Performance is a slight concern to me, but i have faith. Hell, last night i was playing SA and that game shat the bed. First it crashed, then the textures loaded, then faded and reloaded. Such things will still happen in V (as they did in IV and RDR), but rarer. Graphics are important. Games are evolving, and if GTA V was released with really bad graphics - like Driver for example - would anyone like it? No. But with "good" graphics, we'll love it. There's a balance, and with graphics, features performance etc, the game will be good, and will have to match others. There are nicer looking games out there, sure, but gta is the whole package. Sometimes, however, things have to be compromised. *I dont feel GTA IV is "grey" in a bad way. I liked it. Edited May 29, 2013 by Mokrie Dela The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Guest
IV ran perfectly fine on PS3. There's nothing to complain about. SA has acceptable graphics. You can actually see. There's no reason to complain. You can start complaining about how the game runs terribly or how poor your port is when you see the PS2 version of Just Cause 1. Here's a comparison. I'm expecting RDR level graphics, because even though V is running on an updated RAGEngine, the gameplay will be a lot more memory intensive (more pedestrians, more explosions, more objects on screen at once, greater variety of terrain, faster map traversal, verticality etc). LittleBlueTroll
*I dont feel GTA IV is "grey" in a bad way. I liked it. I am the complete opposite of this, i think the amount of lacking color in IV was a huge deal. The game was basically built around a color palette containing only grey, brown and black. And i know the game was meant to be gritty and dirty, and the same goes for the city. So that does explain why there is a distinct lack of color. However as far as my personal preference, i want more colors. Liberty City was a very depressive environment rather than an immersive one. V is looking more my style already, everything just seems brighter.
Murad96
The FPS in real life is like 60. So if it was actually 60 in GTA 5 it would be more immersive and, well... feel better.

Guest
IV looks quite nice if you max out contrast and saturation but keep brightness to a quite low setting, about level 3. It makes daytime colourful and lively, but nighttime still stays dark and gritty.

However as far as my personal preference, i want more colors. Liberty City was a very depressive environment rather than an immersive one. V is looking more my style already, everything just seems brighter. This is the thing; that was intentional. IV was set during autumn, not summer. NYC and the story, are not bright sunny tropical warm feelings. If they had it with Vice City colour pallet etc, it would feel very very weird. It had this grounded, gritty, feel. It wasn't a rags to riches or a "yay" game. That said, had you ever gone into settings and turned the saturation up? I had, and it actually got very colourful. Perhaps i just have a better TV or perhaps playing through component (more vibrant than Hdmi on my tv) made it more colourful. V will be brighter and sunnier, warmer and lighter. It's a different game, a step away. Look at GTA III - comapare that to VC. One is "dull" and "grey" the other is "bright" and "sunny". Sure IV COULD have been brighter but with the use of the in game settings and those of the TV, i managed to make it very bright with very little effort. It's about tweaking. I've tweaked RDR's settings and that of other games too, and they look good. One game won't look the same on every TV. You have to tweak your settings in game and on the TV for your needs. Those that say GTA IV had no colour, I feel, are colour blind or lazy. Sure, it wasn't the golden sunkissed of Vice City, but it was still colourful, enough for the setting and theme. On any hand V will "fix" that, not that it need it. Ironically, I think I'll turn the satuation/ brightness down when I get it. RE: MiamiViceCity - As i said, each TV is different. In game settings are there to tweak to suit your needs. For MVC's tv, he turned them up, and it looked bright and vibrant. On my tv, that would possibly wash out and look too much. So on mine, i turn it DOWN. Sure, i bump the colour up a touch, but brightness down. My settings look really nice. but on MVC's TV, that would likely look sh*t. Also, bear in mind, as i said, that I connect via COMPONENT. That makes things look more vibrant where as HDMI looks washed out - every TV is different, and every person's preference is differnt. I for example, like night time to be DARK. I got that on RDR, and almost in IV - knocking out a streetlamp made things seem dark, as opposed to fake-blue.
