DeafMetal
So last night I decided to turn on my old ps2 and give it another go. I put on Bully, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid 3, Vice City, Resident Evil 4, and Red Dead Revolver. Since my gaming TV is a 50 inch HDTV now, all of these games looked really grainy... all of them except Bully. The games were made to be played on an older standard-def television and so they suffer from being on such a big TV. And yet Bully somehow manages to look good on an HDTV running on the weakest console of last-gen... it's nowhere near most ps3 games nowadays, but it's definitely not the eye strain that Vice City is. I also have the PC version of Bully and run it in the SAME TV, maxed out, at 1080p, 60+fps and the ps2 version didn't give me eye strains in comparison; in fact, it blew me away with how much it could do with the ps2. Bully was basically in the same predicament as GTA V is in right now: it came out near the start of next-gen consoles. And not only is it a great game (check it out if you haven't!), but it still looks and plays damn well coming from gaming on 1080p/720p for years. So, given this, I think we can expect the same from V. So if you're having doubts on whether or not the game will be able to survive against the likes of next-gen Watch Dogs or Mafia, etc., then take a look at Bully and see what Rockstar can do with old tech when they've mastered it. Lunatic100
I think they will because the other consoles are coming out soon and there not coming out with another gta for about 5-6 years. Plus this game is going to be to good to just stay on the current consoles.
ZZCOOL
wasn't san andreas released at the end of the last gen?
epicluca
There's Gaikai on PS4 (Workaround for non backwards compatibility) so PS4 users are fine, dunno about xbox though.
DeafMetal
wasn't san andreas released at the end of the last gen? Yep, but Bully was the last one Rockstar released for the ps2-era consoles.
tenpennyisplainevil
This is not the SD-HD conversion as PS2-PS3 was. GTA V will probably look better than all Xbox One or PS4 games in the first half year. Takes some time to get better quality on the new consoles. V will not only survive the new gen but also exceed it for a period of time.

Wrong, Manhunt 2 was released in 2007 on the PS2 .
FiendishDog
wasn't san andreas released at the end of the last gen? San Andreas had a good year and a month before the next-gen began. GTA V only has like a month or two. I think it will hold up though.
Raavi
No I'm not. GTA V will 'survive' if you will Watch Dogs and the first few batches of next gen games. Until R* announces a next Red Dead game. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise
Grove Street Heat
R star shouldn't even release gta5 on next gen cause that ruins the surprise of what it could do for the next gta

I wish people would shut the hell up about next gen consoles.
