"And as between late spring heading into the summer doldrums or early fall in an open field, that wasn’t the reason that the title moved, but I think it happens to be a terrific time to launch it," Zelnick said. Thats a pretty bold statement if u ask me and gets me excited to see what else they have in store for us. He's stating that V will be better than anything out there for the time being... then again i don't think he KNOWS that for sure so his statement is a marketing attempt to switch hype from the other games back to GTA. It seems like R* is one of the only developers nowadays that has the patience to really get it right with these open world 3PS crime adventure games. I would love to see a direct competitor someday. A good release window is when people get in vacation, during holidays or special occasions, not when they go back to school/ work after vacations. It will sell of course, but maybe some people will delay their purchase exactly because of that (need to focus on more important stuff so I'll wait a bit longer and possibly the price will be lower by then). So I think there is another reason for this time frame, because in terms of logic there's none, oh and don't say it's because there aren't any other major title launches, as if that was a problem to a title as GTA. I refuse to buy or play title on consoles because quite frankly, I find the graphics and controls 7 yr old tech. That's a truth right there.
