Dying outside of missions

We know what happens when you die within a mission, but what about when you die outside of missions?

 

So, I am using Trevor and I jump out of my jet and forget that I don't have a parachute, splat. Will it trigger a mini-mission for one of the others to go pick him up from the hospital?

 

Also, what happens if we jump out of a jet with Trevor and switch to Michael, will Trevor still die?

A mini-mission to get people from the hospital? Haha right.

 

I think if you both jump out and one doesn't have a parachute and you switch off him, he will die and get "Wasted" as usual and then respawn and go off and do his own thing as usual I suppose.

 

I don't know if you can both get in an aeroplane together out of story though, as soon as you switch from one character to another the other will start doing his own thing again.

It was an idea as to how things can play out, when Roman died when you met up with him, about 8 in-game hours later he would call you to pick him up, so its not completely written out...

 

And, no I meant jump out a jet with Trevor and switch out to Michael who is, for instance in a Los Santos shop.

I think you'll need to be on the ground to switch, at least outside of missions.

I don't think they'll ask you to switch characters. You'll just quickly respawn at a hospital, the way you always have in GTA games.

What'll happen? The same as any other GTA. That character respawns outside of the hospital and you play on.

 

If you switch before he dies, then switch back, the character will either be outside the hospital/heading home, or already done that and carrying on with his day.

 

 

The mechanic won't change.
