Chukkles
What are the implications of this? Say I fall into fire and burn my face, am I gonna be Freddy Krueger for the rest of the game? I'm thinking it may only be to do with missions and the scars are actually part of the script. What do you guys think?

Columbo
Maybe they'll go away after a certain amount of time, or after you've been wasted and have recovered at the hospital. Perhaps even a simple thing as sleeping will heal your wounds.

I'm thinking permanent scares are not true and we can get wounds during (fire)fights, however they will disappear after awhile. If permanent scares are true it is probably scripted Something like in AC3 where in the last few missions you cut of your hair
Kiffster
Is it confirmed that there are permanent scars in da game? Doesn't make much sense if you ask me. Trevor or whoever will end up looking like the walking dead or whatever after everything that I'm gonna put them through...
TwistedMedia
I don't think that this came from the best source, and since no other previews mention it, it is most likely something which somebody has made up based on that scar on Michael's chest. Lets imagine for a moment it is real though.. I think it would work well in a story-only way. For example, if one of the protagonists gets cut accross their face or shot (as part of the story) etc, then it would be good, similar to the sniper bullet wound in Max Payne 3. In terms of scarring for random injuries that the player sustains, it would not work, and the characters would look ridiculous before long. I think I read a preview mention that the characters dynamically bruise if their health is low, which could be a better way to show injuries? Mokrie Dela
Most likely if you get cut you scar, the scar will remain until you sleep/heal/eat - much like how in GTA IV your clothes could be covered in blood until you heal. LibertyKing
If we fall off a building, will we have our back and our legs broken for the rest of the game? Scars would be kinda useless.

EmagmaLak
I think if the scars are even visible, they will be minor at best. Besides it would impact the story slightly if you was free roaming, burnt half your face off, carried on with the story and none of the characters even noticed. It's not like getting a haircut or changing your shirt, if you burnt to a crisp, someone would notice.

SegmentationFault
I hope this isn't in the game. It's not a great feature too. After the half of the game the characters would look like zombies. I think that it will be like gta Iv ( with blood appearing in your clothes )

AZAZEL
Why do you think this is in the game? did it say so in a preview? No. I'm pretty sure this is from the same batch of bullsh*t info some Russian made up. Same with the 460 vehicles and what not. Actually this was also confirmed in several legitimate Russian previews. Damage will appear in real-time depending on the injuries and scenarios. So for instance after trevor beat up and got beat up by the Lost MC it was visible on his body that he was bruised and injured, he actually appear to 'limp' to the the boat. So yes this will happen but only on predetermined points. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise

As one magazine mentioned trevor looking/walking all fine when actually doing the armored-truck-robbery which was after the injuries appeared. So this myth is busted. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise
cutthoatish
I think it would be cool if the you got scars from your first death so you always remember how you got merked for the first time. First gunshot wound death anyway.
Dope_0110
Why do people here believe any bullsh*t that is thrown at them? Not everyone, but a lot of you do. Of course there will be no permanent scars unless they are from mission specific events which we'd probably witness in a cutscene. And we all know the magazines got what.. 60 minutes to look at the game. How could anyone claim something stays FOREVER in the game after only seeing it for a short amount of time. In GTA IV there were bruises or blood stains that are all over the character until you get healed. So Rockstar could've spent some time walking around with an injured character and that's the whole basis for a ''forever'' label to be attached. Come on people, think for yourselves. GlitzyTomb
A character having a scar is not proof of dynamic scarring. John Marston had a fatty scar across his face. No dynamic scarring there.
